Watch: Victorian home moved six blocks on hydraulic dolly in San Francisco

Feb. 22 (UPI) – A 141-year-old, two-story house in San Francisco was dragged six blocks from its original location to its new home in an operation that took about six hours.
The seven-bedroom Victorian house known as Englander House moved from 807 Franklin Street to 635 Fulton Street on Sunday, a drive of about six blocks.
Lana Costantini of the San Francisco Historical Society said moving the huge house on a hydraulic dolly was not without unforeseen difficulties.
“There were a few mishaps on the way. Trees that were in the way, stop signs, lights and signs and what not,” Costantini told KGO-TV.
Tree trimmers were used to move branches out of the way, and street signs and parking meters were temporarily relocated to make way for the oversized cargo.
Officials said the move was the first of its kind in San Francisco in 45 years.
The home’s owner, San Francisco realtor Tim Brown, is believed to have spent approximately $ 400,000 in fees and moving expenses to relocate the home. Phil Joy, who led the move, said he needed to get permits from more than 15 city authorities to do the move.
