No rain in San Francisco Bay Space forecast for some time, report excessive temperatures potential subsequent week
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – Here comes the dry, warm weather! According to ABC7 News meteorologist Mike Nicco, the Bay Area is preparing for possible record highs next week with no rain in the forecast for possibly two weeks.
Nicco says the “storm door will close” for a while.
“Let’s check what happened and where we’re moving from here,” Nicco said.
The drought has not gotten better or worse during the recent storms in the Bay Area.

In fact, we are still experiencing “moderate to severe to extreme” drought conditions.
Our total rainfall for the season, which began October 1, 2020, is only 18% to 35% of the average, says Nicco.
The Bay Area is not alone.
“Looking ahead to next week, most of the country will be dry,” said Nicco.
The Bay Area has a 40% to 50% chance of below average rainfall.
“At the same time, most of the country is getting warmer than average,” added Nicco.

In the Bay Area, there is a 70% chance that temperatures will be above average.
“In fact, I’m seeing record temperatures next week,” said Nicco. “Thursday seems to be our best day for above-average temperatures.”
I could be near 70 in Oakland, Hayward, and Redwood City. San Jose and Petaluma also deal with temperatures in the 70s.
Nicco’s Accuweather forecast shows the next few nights will be cooler before the ground dries up from the storm on Friday and the warming trend begins on Monday.
“I hope you enjoy the dry weekend and warm weather next week,” said Nicco.
