I love the customer service here. Went inside – was instantly bigger and helped me find a tool I needed. The Lord even compared it without the other tools to make sure I wasn’t paying too much for what I needed. The prices were good too. – Alic H.

I can’t tell you what joy this place brings me! Let’s be clear, I like this stuff and would love to go to a hardware store for a rainy day, but they have it all! I needed a couple of zip ties; You have a wall from them! The other thing I love is that I can come in with a strange request, “I’m trying to do X and can’t figure out how.” You will take the time to work with me to find out the project and the best approach. It seems like they enjoy a regular challenge. – Ben Emmert-Aronson
Cole hardware
Cole hardware is one of the oldest and most reliable hardware stores in San Francisco when it first opened to Cole Valley residents in the 1920s. Dave Karp acquired the business in 1959 and ran it as a one-man army in a small space that is now the main warehouse and storage area for the branch on Cole Street. Mr. Karp’s methods of running the business can be summed up by the sign on the cash register with the motto “There are no strangers here, only friends we haven’t met”, a clear projection of the store’s personalized customer Service.

Best find this year! Love little old hardware stores and find unique hard-to-find tools or equipment. I prefer to pick up my orders here too close to my husband’s house than in the city center. – Stella Tatola
