What’s Coming to HBO Max in May 2023: HBO Max has always been a platform that has delighted its viewers with premium content. The month of May will certainly be no different. In the existing lineup of shows, the month of May brings new episodes of Succession Season 4 as well as the latest episodes of the new series called Love and Death. That’s not all the platform has to offer though, as they’re poised to launch a couple of new titles for us that will either make us yearn immediately or keep us waiting in anticipation on a weekly basis.

1st of May
Plumber in the White House
HBO Max is bringing a satirical political miniseries, and we’re ready for it! The upcoming series is being created and written by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck with director David Mandel on board. It is based on the 2007 book Integrity by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh. The cast includes Woody Harrelson, Justin Theroux, Domhnall Gleeson, Lena Headey, Kiernan Shipka, Ike Barinholtz, Yul Vazquez, David Krumholtz, Rich Sommer, Kim Coates, Liam James, Kathleen Turner, Judy Greer and others.
The show’s story revolves around the Watergate masterminds and political agents E of President Richard Nixon’s time, where we see the people who were part of the “White House plumbers” accused of plugging up press leaks , ending up overthrowing the presidency they were trying to protect.

2.May
1000% Me: Growing up mixed
At its core, it is a documentary in which filmmaker and comedian W. Kamau Bell approaches the joys and challenges of growing up mixed race with sensitivity and humor while engaging in conversations with children and families living in the San Francisco Bay Area. That includes his own roots! How funny and real is that, right?
May 4th
The other two season 3
The third season of the comedy series by Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider is here! With Heléne Yorke as Brooke Dubek, Drew Tarver as Cary Dubek, Case Walker as Chase Dubek aka ChaseDreams, Ken Marino as Streeter Peters and Molly Shannon as Pat Dubek, we’ll continue to see how the millennial siblings are coping with their youngest sibling’s rising fame , a 13 year old.
Unicorns warriors forever
Adult Swim is exactly the house that brings us the best (think Rick and Morty!) and we have a brand new animated series to get excited about! This new show is about a young girl who is unknowingly gifted with magical abilities and, upon discovering what she is capable of, becomes part of a supernatural evil battle group, essentially the New Age superheroes of this universe. The cast includes Genndy Tartakovsky, Victor Alli, Ron Bottitta and several others.

8th of May
Two Sides of the Abyss
A German crime thriller to add to your list, Two Sides of the Abyss is about an inevitable catastrophe that befalls the life of a police officer and those involved with him when his daughter’s killer is released early from prison. The series was created by Kristin Derfler and stars Dirk Martens, Josephine Thiesen and Lea van Acken.
May 16th

Sports documentaries are always popular with audiences, so let’s hope this is no different. Directed by Arlene Nelson and produced by Academy Award winners Natalie Portman, Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, and starring Sophie Mas, Anna Barnes and Christine O’Malley, Angel City is exactly what it sounds like!
The docuseries will look behind the scenes and onto the field of the groundbreaking Angel City Football Club, the Los Angeles-based women’s professional soccer team. From how it came to be to its current state, we’ll see how this three-part documentary broadcast covers it all.

A Romanian warm-up action thriller, the Spy/Master trailer synopsis explains it all and reads: “Set at the height of the Cold War, the show presents a week in the life of fictional character Victor Godeanu (Alec Secăreanu), the right-hand man of the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and his closest adviser. But Godeanu has a secret: he is a double agent and must flee Romania and Ceaușescu before he is discovered.
“With only one chance of survival, he uses a diplomatic trip to Germany to get to the States. Assisted by an undercover Stasi agent and ex-girlfriend (Svenja Jung) and a CIA agent (Parker Sawyers), Godeanu must beware of the KGB and spies from his own country (Ana Ularu and Laurentiu Bănescu) as he… is aware that desertion makes him family in mortal danger. Anything you love.” The series will also star with Ana Ularu, Aidan McArdle and Nico Mirallegro, among others.

I love you, Donna Summer
If reading the title makes you think of American singer-songwriter Donna Summer then you are in the right direction as this upcoming documentary is about her. Directed by Oscar- and Emmy-winning filmmaker Roger Ross Williams and Brooklyn Sudano (daughter of Donna Summer), the series will explore the music career and personal life of the icon.
