This Distinctive Blush from Celeb-Used Laura Geller Is My Spring Go-To

If you could only use, say, five beauty products for the rest of your life, what would they be? Next to brightening concealer and my favorite lip gloss, I’d absolutely, 100 percent, hands-down, need to have some form of blush by my side. Blush brightens my face and, with it, my mood. Without it, I feel incomplete. As of writing, I have ten different kinds of blush in my makeup bag.

As a shopping writer, it’s my job to know about buzzy new launches, test products, and determine what’s worth recommending. In the beauty space alone, I’ve already tested over two dozen products this year. And for over a decade now, I’ve been watching makeup tutorials and crafting my own flawless routine. When I experiment with new products, it’s rare that something will really impress me — I’ve tried a lot of products. A recent standout was the Serum Blush Cheek Tint from Laura Geller, which the brand gifted me.

The unique serum formula is so buildable, so natural-looking, and so easy to apply. It’s truly wowed me. Right now, you can get it for just $18 when you use code SC10 at checkout.

The color payoff of the Laura Geller Serum Blush Cheek Tint is up to your discretion. The soft sponge applicator makes it easy to build up the sunkissed effect layer by layer. On days that I want to keep it light, I only need one or two dots for a sheer wash. There are seven shades available, and they work for many different skin tones — just look at the different models on the brand’s website —  but my personal favorite is True Tawny. It has a “hint of bronze,” per the brand, which comes off as a neutral brown-pink on my fair skin.

At first, I was unsure about the product’s luminous finish, since I find they can make me look more sweaty than dewy. But it gives me just the slightest glimmer of a glow, and it’s since added a bit of shimmer into my mostly matte routine.

To be honest, I probably should have known better. Oprah has included products from the brand on her iconic Favorite Things List twice, first in 2022 and again in 2023, saying, “These four makeup palettes go from day to night, natural to dramatic, and are especially great for the over-40 woman.” Plus, Laura Geller has collaborated with icons like Fran Drescher and Vanna White.

The serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid and polysaccharide, which is supposed to be hydrating, but I haven’t noticed a difference. The only negatives are small: On first use, you do have to twist the product for a fairly long time before it begins to dispense, and the applicator requires cleaning (like any other makeup brush or sponge).

The unique product is a hit with other customers, too. “I absolutely love this blush,” wrote a reviewer who said they went on to buy it in “almost all of the colors” because “it’s that good,” adding, “ [It’s] super blendable, and easy to build the color. It just makes me look so fresh.”

“I have very dry skin, so powders don’t work well on me,” a second shopper noted. “I usually have trouble blending creams, but this blush is amazing!” And a third shopper said it “stays put all day.”
