The place to observe, what to do for sport
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — It might be difficult to snag a ticket to the Padres home opener on Thursday.
The Friars on Monday announced tickets for Opening Day at Petco Park against the San Francisco Giants have been sold out. However, there are a limited number of park passes still available in the newly renovated Gallagher Square.
The matchup, which starts at 1:10 p.m., will be televised on Padres.TV. Fans can also listen to the game on 97.3 The Fan streamed through the Audacy app.
Those who want to be surrounded with Padres fandom can attend watch parties at the following spots:
- Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter: 5 O’Clock Somewhere Rooftop Bar, 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- LandShark Bar & Grill: 616 J St., 10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Other Padres bars in downtown San Diego to consider include Bub’s at the Ballpark, The Deck at Moonshine Flats, Fairweather Bar, Social Tap San Diego, among others.
If you are going to the game at Petco Park on Thursday, the Padres are also hosting a watch party after the game for the San Diego State Aztecs men’s basketball team as they take on the University of Connecticut in the NCAA Sweet 16 round at 4:39 p.m. Only ticketed fans will be allowed to attend this event.
This weekend, the East Village Association are putting together a block party for home opener weekend on J Street from 7th to 10th Avenue in front of Petco Park.
