Shreve & Co. shifting from San Francisco to Palo Alto
RAuthorized Olex dealer Shreve & Co., which has operated in San Francisco since 1852, has announced it will close its Post Street location.
The company officially states: “The decision to close the San Francisco store and relocate its headquarters to Palo Alto reaffirms Shreve's continued commitment to providing exceptional service and craftsmanship to its discerning clientele.”
In conjunction with these changes, Shreve & Co., located at 150 Post Street in San Francisco's Union Square shopping district, is offering customers the opportunity to purchase jewelry and watches at great prices with discounts of up to 60%, and the store will close following the sale all inventory included in the sale.
The new location in Palo Alto is about an hour's drive south of San Francisco.
The reason for the move wasn't explicitly stated, but given the well-reported security issues in San Francisco (and Union Square), it's reasonable to assume why the oldest jewelry retailer in California – which has been a fixture in the area for 172-years – would have made such a profound decision to leave.
