A civil lawsuit is being filed against South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem for her participation in a Texas dental ad.
Noem recently post a nearly five-minute testimonial on social media for Smile Texas, a practice outside of Houston.
Travelers United, a consumer watchdog group, filed the lawsuit arguing the video is misleading and features deceptive advertising.
The non-profit claims Noem is a social media influencer and that she was either paid or given free or reduced-cost medical services in exchange for the post.
Travelers United wants Noem to make a corrective disclosure.
