San Francisco man injured clinging to automobile of fleeing robbers
A San Francisco man was injured after clinging to the car of thieves who broke into his own car, police said.
The robbery occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Monday near 17th Avenue and Moraga Street in the Inner Sunset neighborhood.
The 52-year-old man saw four people break the window of his parked car and grab a backpack. He chased them as they got into a waiting limo and grabbed the car as they drove away.
When one of the robbers pointed a gun at him, the man let go of the moving car and fell to the ground. He suffered non-life threatening injuries for which he was hospitalized.
The stolen backpack contained cash, credit cards, and a passport.
The police did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects or their vehicle. Anyone with information is asked
