Northeast Nebraska Public Well being Division holds oral well being clinic in Emerson, NE

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Dentists and hygienists took time to brighten smiles in Emerson, Nebraska.

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department held an oral health clinic at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson.

It’s part of their program Creating New Smiles.

The state health department offers free dental clinics, every quarter, to help provide dental care in rural areas where seeing a dentist can be difficult.

Folks could get screenings, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants.

Plus, health officials helped patients find a dentist if they needed more work.

“It’s a great way for us to be able to reach out and help the underserved population. Kind of bring services to them if they can’t make it to a dentist’s office for some reason or another” said Public Health Registered Dental Hygienist Stacy Benne.

Another oral health clinic is set for June 25 and 26 in Wakefield, Nebraska.
