Throughout my teen years, I wasn’t as privy to makeup or hair tutorials in the same way that my peers were, which meant that I learned some beauty lessons the hard way — some harder than others. Like the importance of taking my makeup off before bed each night, the value in knowing how to properly pluck my eyebrows (the lesson being: don’t), or how to apply self-tanner without looking like a blood orange personified — these formative experiences are all a part growing up folks, even if they do elicit some pretty cringe memories.

Luckily in adulthood, I’ve learned to embrace some of the features that once made me insecure — like my fair complexion. I’ll gladly accept looking pale from time to time, so long as I don’t have to expose myself to harmful UV rays or run the risk of becoming a “self-tanner gone wrong” meme in public. And on the days when my face could use a little extra color, I simply turn to the MCoBeauty Super Glow Bronzing Drops ($20) to remedy it. Unlike other bronzers I’ve tried, these drops have a glowy tint that’s not too overbearing but still manages to elevate my skin with a sun-kissed radiance.

Ahead, I break down what makes this beauty essential so great, from the product’s budget-friendly price tag to its simple application and why it’s arguably one of the best bronzers on the market — perfect for summertime and beyond.

About MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops

  • This hybrid beauty product is designed to elevate the skin’s complexion with a bronzed glow.
  • It’s formulated with nourishing skin-care ingredients like jojoba seed oil and cocoa extract, which work to hydrate and brighten.
  • The bronzing drops can be applied directly onto skin or mixed with other skin-care products.

What I Like About MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops

As someone with very fair skin and a propensity to burn whenever I tan, I like that these bronzing drops give the illusion of a sun-kissed glow without the hassle of having to actually spend any time in the sun. Unlike other bronzing products, these drops also elevate my skin in a number of different ways — beyond just giving it more color. The formula is infused with nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, white tea extract, and cocoa extract. This concoction does just as much to hydrate my skin and nourish it from the inside out as it does to improve my skin’s complexion with a natural radiance.

Additionally, while I love a luxury splurge every now and then, I also appreciate finding affordable beauty products that don’t skimp on quality. With an under-$50 price tag, this solution is much more budget-friendly compared to other bronzing products. And thanks to its rich coloring, I don’t need to use a ton of the formula in order to achieve a more noticeable glow. Best of all, with the rate at which I’m going through the bronzing drops (i.e. barely making a dent in my bottle), I’m confident I can go months without having to restock it.

How to Use MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops

There are a couple of different ways to use MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops. Since I have pale skin and like a more natural glow, my preferred method is to mix it with other skin-care products. I’ll start by washing my face with a gentle cleanser and then follow it up with my usual morning skin-care routine. Because my go-to moisturizer is so thick, I find that the bronzing drops blend best with it as opposed to my vitamin C or hyaluronic acid serum — both of which have a more oily consistency that can oversaturate my skin, if not applied properly.

I do my usual two pumps of moisturizer, add a drop or two of the bronzing solution, mix them together in my hands, and then douse my face in the formula, blending the mixture into my skin until I feel its sufficiently coated. After that, I’ll wait a few minutes for the formula to absorb before jumping into my makeup routine.

Another option for applying the bronzing drops — as recommended by the brand for those looking to achieve a “more intense glow” — is to apply the solution onto your skin and on top of your base makeup. Given how pigmented the bronzing drops are, I already know that my skin tone is too fair to pull this off. However, if you’re someone with a tan complexion or just want to achieve a more sun-kissed finish, you can definitely play around with this application process.

What to Consider Before Trying MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops

The biggest thing to note with these bronzing drops is that a little goes a long way. The first time I used the product I was blissfully unaware of its strong pigmentation and somehow wound up with my face looking two shades darker than the rest of my body; I actually had to wipe off all of my makeup and restart the process over again just to remedy the situation. Much like the viral Rare Beauty Liquid Blush, you don’t need to apply too much of the solution in order to notice a visible difference in your skin’s coloring and radiance.

I recommend starting with a tiny drop and then applying more of the product as you see fit — better to start small rather than overdo it and risk ruining your makeup in the process. The benefit of using these bronzing drops as opposed to other options is that because you can get away with using so little of the formula, it’s a great, long-lasting solution that can be used for an extended period of time without needing to constantly buy refills.

Where Are MCoBeauty’s Super Glow Bronzing Drops Available to Shop?
