Lucien Roland Actual Dulac Obituary

Lucien Roland Real Dulac (Rollie), 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 21st, 2023, at the Edgewood Centre.
Born Dec.19th, 1922, in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of Adelard and Marie (Caron) Dulac and had been a resident of Portsmouth for many years.
As a boy he worked on the family farm and in his father’s plumbing and heating business. In August of 1941 he joined the Army Air Corps to learn about radios and travel. As his troopship was enroute to the Philippine Islands, Pearl Harbor was bombed and the ship was rerouted to San Francisco. The remainder of his enlistment was served in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska until his discharge in October 1945.
Roland married Juliette Bilodeau on August 20th, 1945 in Lewiston, ME.
Mr. Dulac retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1983.
He was a communicant at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Corpus Christi Parish.
Survivors include his sons Maurice Dulac and wife, Raelayne, of Eliot, Maine, Dennis Dulac and wife, Holly, of Eliot, Maine, grandchildren Kenneth Goodrich, Julie Parker and husband Jeff, David Dulac and wife Meg, Monique Dulac, Sally Dulac; great-grandchildren Holden Parker, Jackson Parker, Allison Parker, Mya Dulac, Simone Dulac, Emmi Dulac; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Juliette, in 2015; his daughter, Christine Goodrich; and his eight brothers and sisters.
The family would like to acknowledge the thoughtful, compassionate care that Roland received for the past several years at the Edgewood Centre.
There will be a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth to follow. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
