Los Angeles, San Francisco amongst areas dropping employees to Dallas-Fort Price

The LinkedIn report shows a trend as more workers are moving to the Dallas area from the major West Coast hubs.

DALLAS – California’s two largest subways serve the Dallas-Fort Worth workforce more than most.

North Texas has added the most workforce from Los Angeles in the past 12 months, followed by New York City and Chicago, according to research by LinkedIn.

The City of Angels has been the first port of call for workers who immigrated to Dallas-Fort Worth for some time, a position it took on from the Empire State’s largest hub earlier this year. LinkedIn estimates that for every 10,000 DFW-based LinkedIn members, five moved from Los Angeles in the past year.

The San Francisco Bay Area ranked 4th last month. The region wasn’t even in the top 10 before the pandemic, as a February 2020 report shows. Los Angeles was No. 4 back then.

The numbers are another sign of the growing numbers of businesses and workers moving their home locations from places like California and New York to Texas. Lower costs and taxes for companies and their employees help drive change.

Charles Schwab Corp., the financial services company, CBRE, the commercial real estate company, and DZS, the technology products for the telecommunications industry, are among those who have moved their headquarters from the major California subways.

Other areas in Texas still make up a handful of the top 10 regions workers leave to come to Dallas-Fort Worth. The Bryan College Station area, Lubbock, Houston, and Waco all saw significant labor migrations to North Texas.

Austin is the # 1 destination for people who moved from North Texas in the last year. Here are a few cities in Colorado.
