Handyman Charged with Fraud

(La Porte County, IN) – A Michigan City man who received money to remodel a house never finished the job. These are the allegations made against Kevin Gloy in La Porte District Court.

Gloy, 50, is charged with two counts of level 6 felony fraud and one misdemeanor count of fraud.

According to court documents, Gloy was hired in June to complete work by Christmas, but each time he showed up he was only working for a short time. He was paid more than $6,500, with some of the money going towards cabinets and doors, which he never received. By early December, Gloy had stopped showing up, and each time the victim reached him, he apologized for not working.
