As a result of this change, all OSDCP services previously accessed from community dentists are now provided at health unit dental clinics.

This transition ensures eligible seniors can continue receiving free, regular dental care services through the program, says a news release issued by Health and Social Services of Haldimand and Norfolk.

To be eligible for the services, recipients must be a resident of Ontario, age 65 and over, and meet the annual income requirements ($25,000 for single seniors and $41,500 for couples).

Dental services covered under the program include checkups, including scaling, fluoride and polishing; repairing broken teeth and cavities; x-rays; removing teeth or abnormal tissue (oral surgery); anesthesia; treating infection and pain (endodontic services); treating gum conditions and diseases (periodontal services); and dentures (co-payment required).

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 519-426-6170, ext. 4444 or 905-318-6623, ext. 4444. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
