Former Ohio State Working Again Trey Sermon Chosen By The San Francisco 49ers With No. 88 Total Decide In 2021 NFL Draft

Former Ohio State is running back Trey sermon was selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the No. 88 in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

Sermon, a former four-star prospect from Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry, spent the first three years of his career in Oklahoma, completing over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Sooners.

It took Sermon a little to familiarize himself with his role on the Buckeyes offensive after arriving as a graduate transfer last spring, having only completed 344 yards and one touchdown in the first five games of the 2020 season . But he made a major breakthrough when he set the school single game record with 331 yards and two points in a win over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Sermon followed with another stellar performance, hitting 193 yards and a touchdown in a 49:27 win over Clemson in Sugar 2021. However, his season ended abruptly and prematurely when he sustained a collarbone injury in the first offensive game of the loss to Alabama.

The sermon is the third state of Ohio selected in the last three drafts Mike Weber in 2019 and JK Dobbins He is also the fifth former Horse Chestnut to be selected this year and is joining the new Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, New Orleans Saints linebacker Pete Werner , Green Bay Packers Center Josh Myers and Minnesota Vikings Offensive Guard Wyatt Davis .

Sermon is now joining the former sermon and will now team up with former Ohio State Defender Nick Bosa, who was the last horse chestnut designed by the 49ers (2019).
