Eagles-NFL 2023 schedule launch: San Francisco 49ers will NOT cease crying
The Eagles and Niners are set for a rematch in the NFC Championship Game at the end of the season, and San Fran won’t be bragging about last year.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 29, 2023. Here on May 11, 2023 you would be forgiven for thinking the game happened yesterday because Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan was STILL crying at him beat up the ass over three months ago!
With the NFL schedule due to be officially released Thursday night, a number of games have already been leaked, causing excitement among everyone. The Birds play the New York Giants at Christmas and welcome the Niners back to Philly in Week 13 for a Sunday afternoon rematch for the 2023 NFC title game.
On Wednesday night, Shanahan let everyone know that this time when the two teams play, everything will be different. He wants everyone to know that he’s glad the game is being played later in the season so it’s a fair fight THIS TIME.
wait now
I’m looking at the NFC Championship game box score right now and it says Niner’s starting QB Brock Purdy under center to open the game? What is Shanahan talking about, “making sure our entire team is there?” Is he referring to the fact that he felt it would be a smart move to have Haason Reddick, one of the league’s most fearsome pass-rushers all season, with a backup – block tight end? Did San Francisco lack a better block tight end that would have stopped Reddick from benching Purdy?
Or was he referring to the fact that the Niners didn’t add a third QB to their roster for the game, so when backup QB Josh Johnson was ALSO injured, they had to fall back on the already injured Purdy? Is there a certain coach who is supposed to be responsible for counting the number of players on the plane to away games who was sick, causing the count of quarterbacks to be miscounted?
At the very least, the Niners are certain they’ll be perfectly healthy going into the thirteenth week of the NFL season, which is known to be a period in which injuries are notoriously few in the league.
The 49ers have spent the entire offseason, basically since time ran out in the NFC Championship Game, bitching and whining about how “unfair” things were for them at the end of last season. Look, I’ve whined about sports losses before, probably longer than I should in most cases, but I’m an idiot on the internet. I’m not the head coach of an NFL team that has Super Bowl ambitions and missed the last Super Bowl because of bad coaching decisions. San Francisco is an embarrassing organization and their fans should beg them to stop acting like loser babies.
