Alec Hardie Dalziel, 82, of Mansfield, TX, passed away on January 15, 2023 from natural causes.
Alec was born on August 29th 1940 to Don and Mary Dalziel in Oakland, CA. After graduating from Berkeley High School in 1958, Alec went on to study business at UC Berkeley, then completed his JD in Law at University of California San Francisco.
Following law school graduation, Alec worked as an attorney for several years before transitioning into the family wholesale plumbing supply business, Dalziel Supply Co.
In 1958, Alec met Nancy and they wed in 1964. They went on to have two children, Laura and Stuart. Alec worked with determination to provide his family with the life he envisioned for them. Family was everything to him, something he often mentioned. He was endlessly proud of Nancy, Laura and Stuart.
Alec was a passionate gardener, often schmoozing them into growing and producing multitudes of vegetables. He could also be found sailing with family and friends, often around the bay and occasionally in the warmer waters of the Pacific Ocean. He was charismatic, had a great sense of humor, and always enjoyed spending time with friends.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. Alec was predeceased by his parents, Don and Mary, and his wife Nancy. Alec is survived by his two children, Laura and Stuart, His siblings: Ann Hobson (and family), Bruce H Dalziel, Jean Armstrong, Hellen Harris (and family), Mary Manders (and family), James Taylor, and seven grandchildren: Clarice Dalziel, Sophia Dalziel, Kelsey Karmann, Alexandra Schreiber, Charles Schreiber, Grace Dalziel, and Cade Dalziel.
There will be a memorial for Alec in San Francisco sometime in summer of 2023 with more specifics to be announced soon.
