Report: Extra individuals leaving Evergreen State than shifting in

BELLLINGHAM, Washington — In the past year, more people have moved out of Washington state than into it.
Allied Van Lines’ annual U.S. Migration Report finds that 55.5% of interstate moves left Washington in 2022, while 44.5% moved in.
The report notes that newcomers to Bellingham came primarily from California, while others came from Phoenix and the upper Midwest.
Those who left our city preferred the Denver, Southern California, Tucson, and Boise, Idaho areas.
The states with the most new migrants last year were Arizona, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Texas.
Those seeking greener pastures the most were Illinois, California, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
