What Magnificence Merchandise Are Gen Z Shopping for?

A recent report from McKinsey & Company, published in March of this year, revealed that in the United States, Gen Z consumers are prioritising spending on beauty products alongside apparel over the next three months. The report also predicts a six per cent annual growth for the beauty market, estimating it to reach approximately US$580 billion (S$780 billion) by 2027. These savvy young spenders aren’t just throwing cash; they’re willing to invest in sustainable brands and top-notch products, doing their homework before hitting the checkout and have a penchant for genderless products. But what’s the vibe closer to home? We’ve tapped into the wisdom of five Gen Zers to dish out their beauty secrets.

HEIDI LUAH, 25

A graphic designer and social media creative who adores bold beauty looks such as those inspired by Douyin.

When she started taking beauty purchases seriously: “In 2020, I faced numerous skin issues due to adult acne. I learned the hard way that I shouldn’t use just any skincare product I can lay my hands on, but rather ones tailored to my oily and acne-prone skin type. After making a few switches and seeing results, I’ve become quite the skincare enthusiast. Recently, I discovered that I have cool-toned skin, which has transformed how I approach makeup. Cool-toned colours have accentuated my features more effectively.”

Where she gets her beauty supplies: “I acquire my beauty products both online and in physical stores. I particularly favour K-beauty and J-beauty products, which I often find to be more affordable on Shopee. I’m grateful to skincare brands that send me PR kits to try, granting me access to products I might not otherwise be able to experiment with. For urgent skincare needs, I occasionally visit Sephora.”

The Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask doubles up as a nighttime moisturiser for Heidi Luah

How much she spends on beauty monthly: “I estimate that I spend around $150 monthly. Given my role as a content creator, I frequently use products provided to me. This additional usage likely adds $200 to my monthly bill, for which I am immensely grateful. These products often last for weeks, months, or even a year. Additionally, I allocate $15 monthly for coloured contacts and $20 to $30 for hair products. I have my hair done three times a year, and my nail expenses, typically around $50, are incurred during trips to Johor Bahru.”

Her makeup, skincare, and fragrance collection: “In terms of skincare, I’m currently loving Hada Labo Gokujyun (both the normal and premium versions), Medicube Deep Vita C Pad, Kiehl’s Micro-Dose Retinol, and Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask (which I use as a nighttime moisturiser). This is my gentle, everyday go-to routine when my skin is behaving well.

Credit:Kosas

Kosas, which gained viral fame through TikTok, has been stocked in Singapore at Sephora since April. Its Concealer Revealer is a super creamy and brightening concealer that Heidi Luah swears by as a good base for her makeup.

During the day, I’ve been particularly enjoying the Nivea Sun Extra Protect C&E Vitamin Sun Care SPF 50 PA+++, which sits beautifully under makeup. As for makeup, I adore the YSL Beauty All Hours Foundation, YSL Beauty Touche Eclat Mesh Cushion Foundation, and Kosas’ super creamy Concealer Revealer. It’s quite a splurge, but I firmly believe in investing in a good base. Everything else after that is fair game for experimentation.

I’m also fond of products from Clinique, especially its Cheek Pops in Black Honey and Pansy. Additionally, I love lip vinyls and mascara from Tarte Cosmetics. When it comes to fragrance, I opt for Jo Malone on a daily basis. Its simple and subtle scent is perfect for me.”

Her approach to makeup: “Bold. I enjoy enhancing my features, drawing inspiration from both Douyin and Thai makeup styles. By blending these two, I achieve a striking look that complements my Asian skin. Generally, I focus heavily on accentuating the eyes, nose highlights, and contouring.”

Her approach to skincare: “Soothing. I gravitate towards products that calm my skin, leaving it radiant and plump in the morning.”

Her approach to fragrance: “I prefer fresh, clean scents with a hint of greenery. Sweet florals don’t quite match my personality; instead, I aim for the fragrance of a crisp forest or freshly laundered clothes.”

What beauty means to her now: “Beauty is about discovering your unique style that resonates with your personality or essence. Finding something that you can confidently own is truly beautiful. It’s not about conforming to a single standard of beauty but rather about creatively expressing yourself through your appearance. However, prioritising a healthy and fit lifestyle is essential to me, even before applying that strong eyeliner.”

Credit:Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela From the Garden Eau de Toilette is right up the alley of Heidi Luah, who prefers refreshing scents with a hint of botanicals. The scent comprises a mixture of Geen mandarin, tomato leaf, geranium bourbon heart madagascar, and Indonesian patchouli

Her daily skincare routine: “I layer multiple hydrating lotions, usually three layers of Hada Labo, and gently pat them into my skin. This absorbs quickly. Then, I apply sunscreen followed by my makeup base. At night, I incorporate retinol, brightening, or targeted serums, sealing everything in with Laneige’s Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask, which contains collagen and is great for my mid-twenties skin.”

Must-have beauty products: “Hydrating lotions, moisturiser, sunscreen, and concealer. Without these essentials, I’d hesitate to leave the house.”

Her beauty hacks: “I meticulously maintain my brows, plucking and shaving stray hairs to frame my face. I also swear by a cool-toned nose contour and subtly enlarging my eyes with dark grey coloured contacts.”

Her most expensive beauty item/service: “Oral tretinoin to treat my adult acne. I used it for nine months until my skin settled down, and each pill cost $5, so the total expense was quite hefty.”

The maximum she’ll spend on beauty: “Perhaps $1,000. That might go towards an exceptional skin treatment from Korea, promising radiant, dewy skin for at least six months, plus a few additional touch-ups.”

Most extreme thing she’s done for beauty: “Embarking on a strict diet and daily gym routine. I aimed to improve my health and build muscle, which ultimately transformed the way clothes fit and enhanced the appearance of my skin.”

One item she’s currently eyeing: “An LED mask with various colours to treat acne scars and boost collagen production.”

SHERINN AZMAN, 25

Sherinn, currently a fashion design student on a gap year, is also signed as a model with Misc Management. She’s a big fan of full-blown glamour in her makeup routine.

Credit:Courtesy of Sherinn Azman

When she started taking beauty purchases seriously: “At the age of 17, I decided to stop sharing products with my elder sister. We realised we both had different preferences in makeup styles and items. Since then, I’ve delved deeper into understanding my beauty purchases.”

Where she gets her beauty supplies: “I mainly shop at our local Sephora, but since they don’t stock certain brands available only in the US, I also shop online and visit physical stores.”

How much she spends on beauty monthly: “My beauty spending can vary. Sometimes it goes up to $500, especially after a major declutter or if I haven’t bought anything new for a few months and decide to splurge. Otherwise, it’s usually around $200 or less.”

Credit:Kiehl’s

Sherinn Azman has a soft spot for serums from Kiehl’s

Her makeup, skincare, and fragrance collection: “I enjoy having a variety of makeup brands, although my blush collection is currently taking up space. For skincare, I adore Kiehl’s serums for their lightweight feel on the skin. I have an extensive skincare collection due to different day and night routines. Fragrances are another passion of mine; I’m excited to expand my collection as scents leave a lasting impression. I avoid overly floral scents and lean towards warm and spicy notes. As for hair care, I trust Mise En Scene products, especially its shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil. For nails, I prefer home-based places for their skill and price but indulge in a gel mani-pedi at Far East Plaza monthly.”

Her approach to makeup: “I still enjoy my glam aesthetic from 2017, even though the ‘clean girl’ look is in. Makeup, for me, is about having fun and transforming into an alter ego. I particularly love a striking, smoked-out blue shadow. However, there are days when I opt for a lighter look to appear well-rested and hydrated. Makeup is about feeling good and looking alive, even on those challenging days.”

Her approach to skincare: “As I entered my 20s, I began investing in skincare, believing that prevention is better than cure. I have separate routines for day and night, focusing on different products to address my skin’s needs. I’ve recently incorporated a jade gua sha into my morning routine, which helps to de-puff and tightens my skin.”

Credit:Sephora

Sherinn enjoys layering her scents, making sure that a fragrance such as Givenchy’s earthy and woody L’Interdit serves as its foundation.

Her approach to fragrance: “I prefer warm and spicy notes in fragrances, avoiding strong floral scents. My signature scent is Givenchy’s L’Interdit Eau De Parfum, which receives compliments from various age groups. I enjoy layering scents but always ensure my Givenchy perfume forms the base.”

What beauty means to her now: “Beauty is about self-expression and individualism. Makeup allows me to embody different personas, and certain products evoke nostalgia, connecting me with my past. Beauty should not adhere to a single standard; it’s about creative expression and feeling confident in who you are. Additionally, maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle is important to me, even before applying makeup.”

Her daily skincare routine: “I keep my daytime routine simple with lightweight products, mainly from Kiehl’s for their absorbent properties. I use a toner, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide acid, SPF, and moisturizer. In the evening, I opt for richer products to nourish my skin while I sleep. Alternating between Kiehl’s retinol cream and glycolic acid, along with Drunk Elephant’s F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial, leaves my skin feeling smooth and plump in the morning.”

Credit:Drunk Elephant L’Oreal Paris Makeup

Drunk Elephant’s F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial is packed with barrier-replenishing ingredients, including niacinamide, sodium PCA, plant squalane, five forms of ceramides, omega fatty acids, and powerful antioxidants and forms part of Sherinn skincare ritual.

Her must-have beauty products: “They include Embryolisse’s Lait Creme Sensitive for makeup skin prep, Glossier Futuredew serum for a beautiful dewy glow and to even out my skin tone, L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara for classic, long, beautiful lashes, Patrick Ta Double-Take Blush for buildable pigmentation, Chanel’s Soleil Tan Bronzer for a lasting sun-kissed glow, and Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer for flawless hydrating coverage that’s non-congesting.”

Her beauty hacks: “Use setting spray between each step of your routine to ensure long-lasting makeup, not underestimating lip liners as they add the perfect finishing touch to any look, and opting for an angled eyeshadow brush to contour with better precision.”

Credit:Chanel

Chanel’s Soleil Tan Bronzer for that healthy sun-kissed glow

Her most expensive beauty item/service: “Fragrances are the most expensive beauty items I’ve purchased.”

The maximum she’ll spend on beauty:“$800.”

Most extreme thing she’s done for beauty: “I don’t think I’ve done anything too extreme for beauty unless bleaching brows is considered one. However, I am open to trying non-conventional beauty practices to see if they’re worth incorporating into my routine.”

Credit:Orabella

Model Bella Hadid launched Orabella, her beauty brand, in April, debuting with a series of fragrances.

One item she’s currently eyeing: “Bella Hadid’s new fragrance brand, Orabella. I trust her brand’s mission and believe beauty is intentional in both application and use. Her scents resonate with me as they reflect a divine fragrance.”

KYLIE LOW, 25

A content creator and senior executive in public relations at the creative agency NplusC, who adopts a cleaner and simpler approach to beauty, emphasizing ingredients and formulation.

Credit:Courtesy of Kylie Low

When she started taking beauty purchases seriously: “It all started back in 2019 when I landed my first job in the beauty industry. Initially, it was essential for me to delve into the realm of beauty, encompassing both makeup and skincare, owing to the nature of my work. Additionally, the avid beauty enthusiast within me, who spent hours binge-watching tutorials by renowned figures during the golden era of YouTube, such as Michelle Phan and Pony, also played a significant role.”

Where she gets her beauty supplies: “In this digital age, the majority of my beauty items are sourced from online outlets. This approach offers convenience, simplicity, and occasionally, impulsive purchases (albeit with some consideration, I’d like to believe).”

How much she spends on beauty monthly: “To be candid, my monthly expenditure on beauty isn’t exorbitant, largely thanks to sponsorships. However, if I were to estimate an average, it would range between $150 to $350, depending on my needs for that particular month. This includes expenses for facials, eyeliner refills, hair treatments, nails, and lash extensions.”

Her makeup, skincare, and fragrance collection: “I have quite an extensive collection, to say the least. The list (right now) include Nars’ Light Reflecting Foundation and HD Skin Foundation, Fenty Beauty’s We’re Even Longwear Concealer, Gucci Beauty’s Blush De Beaute, eyeliner from Thai brand Naree, eyelash curler from Shu Uemura and contact lenses from Olens.”

Credit:Gucci Beauty

Gucci Beauty’s Blush De Beaute is one of Kylie Low’s beauty essentials.

Her approach to makeup: “Makeup should always enhance the features you already have to give you that extra boost of confidence. It’s always fun to see how you can work on your existing features to create so many different looks.”

Her approach to skincare: “I prefer clean and simple products that are ingredient-focused – to use only what you need and never to overload your skin.”

Her approach to fragrance: “I’m drawn to woody and earthy scents (like Le Labo and Aesop, my ride or die), but I do appreciate a good powdery clean scent. Prada Beauty Fusion D’Iris and Tom Ford White Suede do it best!”

What beauty means to her now: “Beauty is an outlet for me; it gives me the freedom to be whoever I want to be in the moment. If I feel like looking edgy, I can. But if I feel like looking like a big-eyed doll, I can do that as well.”

Credit:Le Labo

Earthy scents by the likes of Le Labo are Kylie Low’s “ride or die”.

Her daily skincare routine: “Firstly, I begin with a double cleanse using Shu Uemura Black Oil followed by Kiehl’s Gentle Facial Cleanser. Next, I apply the First Care Activating Serum from Sulwhasoo, followed by the Wellage Real Hyaluronic 100 Toner and a Hyaluronic Acid serum from Torriden. For my active treatments during the day, I use Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Night and Kiehl’s Micro Dose Retinol Serum. Then, I apply the Abib Hydration Cream Water Tube, known for its super hydrating properties, particularly beneficial for extremely dry skin and skin barrier repair. Finally, during the daytime, I apply sunscreen to protect my skin.”

Must-have beauty products: “An incredibly amazing oil cleanser, like the Shu Uemura BlackOil, which effortlessly and literally removes makeup in just five seconds, proving to be exceptionally excellent for the skin. I also desperately need an absolutely amazing colour corrector. A more luxuriously luxe option is the one from Shu Uemura, and the wonderfully more affordable option is the one from Saem. Both brilliantly target your ‘imperfections’ at their very root so your base looks flawless without much effort (bye-bye dark eye circles and pesky redness from acne). Next in line is a fantastic concealer.

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is undeniably my ride-or-die (blends out like an absolute dream and doesn’t crease or run throughout the entire day). Another incredibly amazing concealer would be the Fenty Beauty We’re Even Longwear concealer. The shade range is absolutely to die for and covers and blends astonishingly beautifully. I also passionately need lip balm such as the Fenty lip mask which miraculously saved my lips in harsh winter conditions countless times.

Meanwhile, the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume b5 cream will save your skin from absolutely anything – hives breaking out on your face, an extreme winter rash, or sensitive skin. I absolutely never travel without this lifesaving product. Lastly, I need to have a hair mask and oil. I bleach and dye my hair almost monthly, so anything from Olaplex is genuinely my one true love.”

Her beauty hacks: “Firstly, your brow pencil can serve multiple purposes, doubling up as your eyeliner, contour, and aegosal pen when needed. Secondly, while it may not be considered a hack, remember to use sunscreen every day to protect your skin from premature ageing. Lastly, make sure to clean out any peach fuzz on your face regularly. Whether you choose to thread it off, wax it, or undergo IPL treatment, removing peach fuzz can significantly improve how your makeup applies and looks on your skin.”

Her most expensive beauty item/service: “Hair extensions that cost four figures… but I’d do it again.”

The maximum she’ll spend on beauty: “I don’t put a cap on things I love and believe in, which, in hindsight, might be a bad thing. But if you could have beautiful skin for the rest of your life for $10,000, I bet you’d do it.”

Most extreme thing she’s done for beauty: “I’m quite mild and meek, so I wouldn’t call anything I do extreme. But I once learned that rice water has amazing properties for the face and skin, so I started soaking rice in water on a daily basis and used that as a toner and to wash my face and hair. I did it for close to a month, and it was the closest thing I had to SK-II at 17. Did I see any results? Nothing 17-year-old me could quantify.”

One item she’s currently eyeing: “I am a very lucky girl to have everything that I want right now, but if I had to choose, it would be the Hince balm for that glossy wet look, or the Rhode lip balm.”

CAITLIN LIM, 27

Lim works as a marketing executive for a bespoke jewelry brand. Additionally, she manages her own beauty diary on Instagram, where she shares her experiences with skincare products, particularly Japanese skincare.

Credit:Courtesy of Caitlin Lim

When she started taking beauty purchases seriously: “To be honest, I’ve always been very into skincare from a young age. I’m not sure how or why, especially because my mother doesn’t use skincare at all. I think the earliest starting point I can remember was when I had very bad eye circles, which are hereditary, and I was teased about it all the time in primary school. My first skincare purchase was an eye cream when I was 10 years old.”

Where she gets her beauty supplies: “I usually buy them on Shopee during double-digit sales, but for Japanese skincare, I like to go to Welcia-BHG because I enjoy browsing. Sometimes, I shop at Watsons or Guardian when they have good sales.”

How much she spends on beauty monthly: “It really depends; it could range from absolutely nothing to over a thousand dollars.”

Her makeup, skincare, and fragrance collection: “My makeup usually revolves around a few core items like mascara, lipsticks, blush, and eyebrow gel. My go-to eyebrow gel is Glossier Boy Brow, and the rest is Japanese makeup because it’s so cheap and affordable. I have way too many skincare items to keep track of. Part of running my own beauty platform means getting sent PR products to test, so I often end up with way too many items that I usually declutter and send out to my followers sooner or later. As for fragrances, I typically prefer clean, girl scents; my favourite at the moment is Glossier You. I also have a custom fragrance that I made in Kyoto, which I reach for quite often.”

Credit:Glossier

Caitlin Lim’s secret to thick luscious brows: Glossier’s Boy Brow

Her approach to makeup: “Very minimal! I don’t like heavy makeup, and I always believe good skin is my makeup. But I like to focus on my eyes, so usually mascara, a flush of colour to the cheeks (no such thing as too much blush), and giving my eyebrows a bit more depth.”

Her approach to skincare: “I used to enjoy long, ritual-like skincare routines, but after I broke my skin barrier back in 2021, I have shifted to super simple routines focusing on strengthening my skin barrier and incorporating one or two actives: Vitamin C in the daytime and retinol at night.”

Her approach to fragrance: “It depends on my mood. I prefer buying small bottles as opposed to big ones because I always shuffle through scents.”

What beauty means to her now: “Progress over perfection.”

Her daily skincare routine: “In the morning, I start with toner, followed by vitamin C, moisturiser, and sunscreen. Post-gym, I maintain hydration with toner, a hydrating serum, moisturiser, and sunscreen. At night, I focus on rejuvenation with toner, a retinol or collagen serum, moisturiser, and occasionally add a sleeping mask for extra hydration and repair.”

Must-have beauty products: “Dermalogica’s Pro-Banking Collagen Serum. This helps to preserve collagen and plumps skin up at the same time; the cocktail of ingredients inside is just too good. I’ve also been using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant since I was 17. It gently buffs and polishes skin and leaves it super smooth without damaging it. Dermalogica’s Stabilizing Repair Cream is great for damaged skin barriers and helps to really soothe skin; I use it after my lasers and it speeds up healing. I also swear by Hada Labo Premium Lotion as it makes skin so juicy, especially if you have dehydrated skin like me. Mian Neon Retinal Serum is the best retinol I’ve tried. This helps to speed up cell turnover for smoother, more even skin. Lastly, I use Jumiso Awe⋅Sun Airy-Fit Daily Moisturizer with sunscreen. If you’re lazy like me, this condenses the moisturiser and sunscreen steps into one so you have no excuses. The texture is super light as well.”

Credit:Jumiso

Korean brand Jumiso’s Awe⋅Sun Airy-Fit Daily Moisturizer with sunscreen is the perfect two-in-one skin saviour.

Her beauty hacks: “Use hyaluronic acid right after a sheet mask. This plumps skin up. Also, using a wash-off mask in the shower helps keep your skin nice and moist and prevents trans-epidermal water loss. Finally, layer a sleeping mask over your moisturizer on nights you know you’re not getting enough sleep; it’ll help to mitigate the damage to your skin when you wake up.”

Her most expensive beauty item/service: “Lasers. I recently started on lasers and boy, are they expensive but also so worth it.”

The maximum she’ll spend on beauty: “There’s no maximum; I’m willing to drop whatever (within my means).”

Most extreme thing she’s done for beauty: “Burn my face.”

One item she’s currently eyeing: “It’s not really an item per se but I’m thinking of trying skin rejuvenating treatment, Rejuran.”

SHARON LIM, 23

When it comes to beauty rituals, this recent graduate, skincare enthusiast and digital creator believes in the mantra “less is more”

Credit:Courtesy of Sharon Lim

When she started taking beauty purchases seriously: “It probably started four years ago during the lockdown period. I was breaking out very badly and wanted so badly to clear and treat my skin. I’ve always dabbled in skincare and makeup here and there growing up, but I only started properly researching products when my skin started acting up.”

Where she gets her beauty supplies: “A mix of both physical and online stores. I like physical shopping because I can try and test out the different textures before purchasing, especially for makeup because sometimes the swatches online don’t match up to the actual product. But I can’t deny the convenience and ease of online shopping, though it does fuel my impulsive shopping habits.”

How much she spends on beauty monthly: “About $100 to $300, if we’re counting beauty treatments like facials and other services like hair removal and laser. I also get my nails done every one to two months.”

Her makeup, skincare, and fragrance collection: “For skincare, I use Fresh Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum, Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil, Krave Beauty Matcha Heartleaf Hydrating Cleanser, Dr Jart+ Cicapair Intensive Treatment Lotion, Krave Beauty Oat So Simple Water Cream, and Skin1004 sunscreen. In terms of makeup, I turn to the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation, Tom Ford Quad Eyeshadow, Heroine Make Long Stay Sharp Gel Liner, MACximal Silky Matte Lipsticks (specifically in Velvet Teddy, Go Retro, and Taupe), Nudestix Nudies Matte All Over Face Bronze Colour in the shade Sunkissed Cool, and Fenty Gloss Bombs. My fragrance stash includes YSL Libre and Carolina Herrera Good Girl.”

Her approach to makeup: “I love simple makeup that enhances my natural features. Over the years, I’ve realised that my features are ‘low-visual,’ meaning that natural makeup looks better on me as opposed to full glam. The makeup styles that I’m most drawn to are ‘clean girl makeup,’ ‘island girl makeup,’ and Igari-style makeup. I love gel liners, cream blushes, and lip glosses the most. Though, I do like to dabble in other makeup styles when the event calls for it. Growing up with Kesha and Avril Lavigne, it’s hard to deny the appeal of messy eyeliner, black eyeshadow, and concealer lips from time to time.”

Credit:Fresh

Fresh Tea Elixir Skin Resilience Activating Serum is among the products in her beauty cache

Her approach to skincare:“I believe that less is more when it comes to skincare. Yes, I’m a skincare content creator, but I always try to minimize the number of skincare products and steps in my routine. The reason being, you really only need the essential steps – cleanser, moisturiser, and sunscreen. Also, it’s a lot easier to pinpoint your skin triggers when you use fewer products. Another thing I believe in is using products that support the skin barrier. It’s your skin’s first line of defense against external aggressors, so it’s important to keep that barrier strong for healthy skin. I love using products that contain barrier-supportive ingredients like ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids.”

Her approach to fragrance: “I’m not a big fragrance enthusiast, but I love many different scents, and I wear them according to the occasion. I opt for floral and light fragrances for day-to-day wear and something darker and mysterious for date nights. In general, I’m a fan of either really clean scents or gourmand fragrances.”

What beauty means to her now: “Confidence. Inner confidence equals a glow and radiance that no topical product can achieve.”

Her daily skincare routine: “In the morning, I splash my face with water, use a hydrating toner, a light cream moisturizer, and sunscreen. At night, I double cleanse, apply tretinoin, a barrier serum, and then a thick moisturiser to seal everything in.”

Must-have beauty products: “First, the Fresh Tea Elixir Serum. It repairs my skin like no other and keeps my skin barrier so strong and healthy. I remember there was once I had a very bad allergic reaction to a skincare product, and this serum calmed my skin down and repaired it back to normal within like three days. Second, the Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Sun Serum. This is my holy grail sunscreen. It feels amazing on the skin and doesn’t irritate it nor feel heavy, even in Singapore’s weather. Whenever I go to Seoul, I bulk buy this because it’s that good. For makeup, the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation is unmatched. As a dry skin girl, finding a foundation that doesn’t separate or cling to my dry patches is quite difficult, but Nars applies so well and lasts beautifully on my skin.”

Her beauty hacks: “Use guasha every day. It improves blood circulation and drains buildup that could cause skin issues like texture and even acne. It also decreases puffiness. Always use cleansing oil to remove clogged oil tags. Sometimes massaging a cleansing oil will dissolve and break loose clogged texture on the skin. It also helps in removing sebaceous filaments over time. Lastly, use a heated eyelash curler. My lashes are the most stubborn ones ever. They’re as straight as a ruler and refuse to hold a curl, up until I chanced upon heated lash curlers.”

Her most expensive beauty item/service: “IPL.”

The maximum she’ll spend on beauty: “$1,00.”

Most extreme thing she’s done for beauty: “The silliest thing I’ve probably done is constantly rubbing my eyes in hopes of having double eyelids. Eventually, they did develop, so maybe it worked.”

One item she’s currently eyeing: “Make Up For Ever’s HD Skin All-In-One Face Palette (the new one coming out in August).”
