The studios in New York and San Francisco are looking for project landscape architects who are committed to creating and developing exemplary landscape architecture from concept to execution.
About the job:
The PLA works in project teams to drive the successful completion of projects, tasks and initiatives. This is an intermediate position at Snøhetta where one person has an increased level of responsibility for project design, delivery and management. You lead and supervise designers or interns who are part of your project team. Over time, PLAs lead more independently and develop advanced design and project coordination skills.
The PLA is exposed to various working methods that focus on the following core actions:
- Think: Content generation from design through different media
- To do: Creation of drawings, presentations and general construction tasks
- Interaction: Participation and leadership in meetings, project discussions and studio life
Depending on the experience, background and license status of a candidate, he will be recognized as a project designer / landscape architect or senior project designer / landscape architect.

The PLA plays a key role in moving a project forward, leading an internal team, coordinating with consultants and working through all the points agreed in the contract. Below are just a few of the ways you can get your job done.
design
- Organize the design, coordination and documentation process for the design team and its interface with the consulting team.
- Create and organize the development of the design for the design team within the established direction of the project formulated through the responsible partner and the project manager.
- Carry out coordination efforts with project advisors.
delivery
- Contribute to the project delivery process and encourage development by supporting the team and project leader in a variety of ways.
- Assistance in planning, budgeting and monitoring the work assignments of the project team
- Write and support you in project correspondence. Responsible for daily correspondence with consultants and the owner’s daily managers.

To your experience:
- Professional degree in landscape architecture
- An intermediate level with a range of 5-10 years of professional landscape architecture experience
- Confident handling of AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe CS, MS Office Suite, Slack, Zoom
- Experience in all phases of the design
- Experience in carrying out projects through technical design
- Exceptional sensitivity to design, talent and rigor
- Experience working with a range of consultants and large project teams including landscape, civil, electrical, transportation and civil engineers.
- Diverse project experience with a focus on urban public space projects
- Knowledge of grading design, plant planning, materials and technical aspects of landscape architecture
