Charlie was born in Scituate, MA a son of Charles and Christine Taylor. He was a 2010 graduate of Scituate Public Schools. Growing up in Scituate, he was active in ASP and played baseball and football. He was in Jazz and marching bands playing the trombone. He also played the drums and guitar for his own enjoyment and bands with friends. He loved skateboarding and snowboarding. He was employed by Sandwich Chimney Sweep in Sandwich, MA. Before his recent move to Falmouth, MA, he called San Francisco, CA his home and worked for Starbucks Co..

Charlie was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He was kind, funny and was loved by everyone he met. He was a peacekeeper, a diplomat, a leader and a great friend. Charlie will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Christine Taylor; his father, Charles Taylor and his wife Rosemary; siblings, Hannah R. Taylor Carruthers and Grace Elizabeth Taylor; he is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 FIrst Parish Road, Scituate followed by a memorial gathering until 5:00 P.M..

Ariana Kallas has struggled her whole life to have the same experience as her peers and she’s continuing her efforts to catch Taylor Swift’s concert at Levi’s Stadium next month – and those in charge there are ready to help.

Kallas has been in a wheelchair since she was seven, having been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease when she was two years old. She is now 17 years old and recently graduated from El Camino High School in South San Francisco.

The Kallas family has eclectic tastes in music and often attend concerts together. They have attended several events at Levi’s Stadium and their father, George Kallas, said he usually buys ADA tickets or regular tickets and then exchanges them for ADA-accessible seats at the box office on the day of the show. Taylor Swift is Ariana Kallas’ favorite musician and her father rushed to buy tickets as soon as they went on sale in November. However, no ADA-accessible seating was available. He contacted the stadium and asked if they could exchange the seats he had purchased for ADA accessible seats, but was told there were no spares available, he said.

“I will be forced to carry her down the steep steps of the stadium and risk dropping her and injuring her and me,” said George Kallas. “She faces everyday challenges anyway. . . . If there is family home evening to watch some entertainment, why does it have to be difficult?”

Through a series of emails, George Kallas was told he needed to request the tickets and he later received a reply. Levi’s ADA exchange department responded in February that both of Swift’s shows were sold out and no ADA-accessible seats were available.

When it seemed like there weren’t many options left, Ariana Kallas took to Twitter. She noted that several other people with disabilities across the country had similar issues getting ADA accessible seats for the Taylor Swift show, she said. Her post caused a stir on Twitter, has been shared almost 30,000 times and has more than 330,000 views.

On Tuesday, Levi’s Stadium responded to the Kallases’ situation.

“We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy concerts and events at Levi’s Stadium, regardless of their accommodation needs. “There has been unprecedented demand for the Taylor Swift shows,” said a Levi’s Stadium spokesman. “ADA seats were made available as part of the original offering and have already sold out for fans requiring a variety of accommodations. We have reached out to the Kallas family and continue to explore possible solutions.”

George Kallas is happy that Levi’s Stadium is in touch with his family and is trying to work with his family to find a solution.

“I can’t wait to speak to them and I hope everything goes well because we’re looking forward to the show and I just want her to enjoy the evening with the family,” said George Kallas.

Taylor Swift is not only her favorite musician, but also Ariana Kallas’ role model.

“I love her music, but … it’s important to have a female role model like her,” said Ariana Kallas. “She was a really big advocate for women’s rights and LGBTQ and all of that stuff, and I think it’s really important that people have someone like that to look up to.”

But Ariana Kallas is a role model and advocate herself. During her time at El Camino High School, the school built a science wing and the only access to and from the building was by stairs or an elevator.

She emailed the principal and asked how she could exit the building in the event of a fire. Her concerns reached the principal and eventually the school built a bridge and decided to put up a plaque, naming it after Ariana Kallas, to recognize her commitment to people with disabilities.

When it came time to graduate, the school’s stage was not ADA accessible and she was told to roll in front of it to collect her diploma, but she resisted that too.

“She said no, I want to be able to get there at graduation and I want to cross that stage. I don’t want to roll in front of them, I want to cross them like any other kid,” said George Kallas.

The school responded to the problems and built a new stage with a ramp, he said.

“It has helped me not to be afraid to stand up for the rights of everyday people. I was in senior year when the bridge was built, so I realized that it might not help me much, but at least I know that future students who are in wheelchairs will do something that will help them helps,” said Ariana Kallas. “It’s nice to know that many people will have a better experience with these changes on campus.”

George Kallas said he just wants his daughter to continue to stand up for herself because the changes she pioneered at El Camino High School will be part of her legacy.

Ich war aufgeregt. Ich hatte nie woanders als auf Long Island gelebt, also sah ich LA als diesen großartigen romantischen Ort. Ich war sozusagen in meinem eigenen Western. Ich durfte eine Weile oben in den Hügeln von Malibu leben, und für mich war das wie in „Die glorreichen Sieben“. Dann zog ich in ein Mietshaus am Mulholland Drive in Hollywood – sehr malerisch, direkt über der Hollywood Bowl. Aber alle schienen in der gleichen Branche zu sein wie ich. Wenn ich jemanden haben wollte, der mir bei der Reparatur meiner Klempnerarbeiten half, war er nicht wirklich ein Klempner – er war ein Schauspieler. Und wenn ein Elektriker zu mir nach Hause kam, war er eigentlich ein Schriftsteller. Es muss irgendwie verwirrend sein: Macht hier wirklich irgendjemand etwas? Was war Ihr Repertoire im Executive Room?
Ich hatte nicht wirklich eine Pat-Liste. Ich spielte einfach das, was mir gerade in den Sinn kam, je nachdem, was ich trank. Ich bekam kostenlose Getränke und habe mich die ganze Nacht über eingeschmiert. Es war wahrscheinlich eine Kombination aus Hoagy Carmichael, den Beatles und dem großen Pop-Hit, den es damals gab. „Ich und Mrs. Jones.“

Aber als ich mich mit Elton zusammengetan habe, durfte ich sein Material spielen, was wahnsinnig viel Spaß gemacht hat. Ich vermisse das.

Würdest du, wenn es soweit ist, eine große Abschiedstour wie die von Elton in Betracht ziehen?
Das wurde neulich zur Sprache gebracht. Aber ich verachte es, daraus Kapital zu schlagen: „Lass mich drohen, dass es das Ende ist, dann verdiene ich viel Geld.“ Ich habe so oft gesehen, wie Bands ihre Abschiedstourneen ankündigen und dann nie wieder weggehen. Ich habe an dieser Stelle ein paar der Who-Abschiede gesehen.

Ich hatte nicht mehr die gleiche Motivation. Sie brauchen Inspiration, um gute neue Musik zu machen, und wenn Sie sie nicht haben, kümmern Sie sich nicht darum. Was ist dein Barometer, um zu beurteilen, ob ein neuer Song gut oder schlecht ist?

Wenn Sie eine Setlist zusammenstellen, denken Sie jemals darüber nach, wie Ihre Songs – so etwas wie „Captain Jack“, der von „den Junkies und den Schrankköniginnen“ handelt – im aktuellen kulturellen und politischen Klima berücksichtigt werden?
Du meinst, sie sind aufgewacht? Es geht mir durch den Kopf. Aber „Captain Jack“ ist mir ziemlich langweilig geworden. Der Vers besteht nur aus zwei Akkorden, immer und immer wieder, und es ist diese trostlose Geschichte von einem Vorstadtkind, das sich zu Hause einen runterholt. Meine Gedanken beginnen während des Songs zu wandern, also mache ich es nicht, obwohl die Leute es hören wollen.

Sie haben während der Pandemie etwa 50 Pfund abgenommen, richtig?
Ja. Es war nicht einmal bei Bewusstsein. Ich meine, ich bin froh, dass ich das Gewicht verloren habe, weil ich dort ziemlich schwer wurde. Aber ich habe eine ganze Menge davon zurückgewonnen. Ich habe gefunden, was ich verloren hatte – oder es hat mich gefunden.

Du trinkst heutzutage?
Ich habe vor ein paar Jahren aufgehört. Es war kein großer AA-Kick. Ich war gerade an einem Punkt angelangt, an dem ich genug hatte. Ich genoss es nicht, völlig betrunken zu sein, und es verursachte wahrscheinlich mehr Probleme in meinem Leben, als ich brauchte.

Es gibt keinen Instinkt, nach einer Show etwas zu trinken?
Ich brauche es jetzt nicht. Ich kam immer von der Bühne und war so aufgewühlt und adrenalingeladen, dass ich etwas brauchte, um mich zu beruhigen, um schlafen zu gehen. Aber mir ist klar geworden, dass man nicht wirklich schläft, wenn man sich in den Schlaf trinkt. Du wirst einfach ohnmächtig.

Was machst du jetzt, wenn du von der Bühne gehst?

Meine Frau tut das von Zeit zu Zeit, und ich weiß, dass es ein Zeichen von Ärger ist.

Was machst du an einem Tag, an dem du keinen Gig hast?
Ich warte herum, bis die Kinder von der Schule zurückkommen. Ich liebe es, mit meinen Kindern abzuhängen. Sie sind jetzt 7 und 5, und sie machen so viel Spaß und sind so interessant für mich. Ich werde ein Vater, der zu Hause bleibt. So genieße ich heute mein Leben.

Californians contributed $ 1.6 billion to political campaigns during the 2020 political cycle, with 69% going to Democrats, 28% to Republicans, and the rest to independents and third parties, according to bipartisan Money-in-Politics analysts at Open Secrets.

“You’re definitely here to raise money,” said Roger Royse, a Silicon Valley tax attorney who has participated in several GOP fundraisers. “Despite the fact that we are in the belly of the liberal beast, there is a large enough Republican contingent in the state” to support them.

Tickets for the November 6th Greene event, which starts at $ 175, are expected to sell out. All that remains to be decided is where your event will take place. A San Francisco venue has likely gone down because Greene declined to reveal whether she was vaccinated, which would be a requirement for being allowed to enter many venues around the city. Now their event appears to be somewhere in San Mateo County.

It’s not just Greene raising cash in the politically indigo Bay Area. The region has become a hotbed of GOP activity in recent weeks among top Republicans, many of whom keep dreams of a possible 2024 presidential election warm as Donald Trump plans his next move.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Utah Senator Mike Lee, and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul have all visited – at times maskless – and left with heavier campaign accounts. They rant about government mandates and lament the failed Californian dream.

It is a political win-win situation, as is common in fundraising campaigns of all stripes. Their audience goes bellies full of political red meat and politicians return home with their campaign coffers full of cash.

But GOP fundraisers are very different from democratic ones. The California Republicans love to help these out-of-staters because they give them something they don’t have at home: a political voice. California has no statewide officers and Republicans are a super minority in the legislature.

“We are an endangered species here,” said Peter Kuo, vice chairman of the California Republican Party, who attended an event this month for Pompeo at Calvary Church in San Jose for violating COVID. Fines of more than $ 3 million have received public health restrictions, the pastor said.

“We can’t choose them,” said Kuo. “But you can vote for us.”

Pompeo’s speech on Calvary, which was not a fundraiser, was heavily influenced by tough China politics. But other speakers were more focused in the States, like Calvary Pastor Mike McClure.

McClure railed about “the Marxism and the lies that are told in our culture that are not true,” said McClure that “what we see in the forced vaccinations against all these locks and all the controls has kept people from Worship God ”.

The audience roared in approval like Pompeo encouraging what he believed were full of Conservative Californians to stay on course.

“You are in a difficult situation here. Never give up. Never give an inch. Keep your faith, ”said Pompeo. “The ‘California Dream’ is the American dream. Or at least it was. It will come again. “

He said, “We would be much better off if Americans spent more time on the Bible and less on the 1619 Project,” the New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning historical analysis of America’s slavery in recent years four years has shaped centuries. The project has become the acronym for political correctness in conservative circles.

DeSantis ‘appearance last week for a fundraiser at the San Francisco home of venture capitalist David Sacks drew some protesters concerned about Sacks’ involvement in several product recalls in California.

DeSantis and Newsom have continued to argue in the media over their respective states’ approach to the pandemic. During the recall, Newsom often told audiences that if a Republican replaced him, they would likely “drive California off the same cliff” as Florida and Texas.

On Sunday, DeSantis told Fox News that he would offer a $ 5,000 relocation bonus to officers from other states moving to Florida. At a news conference on Wednesday, Newsom responded, without mentioning the Florida governor’s name, that “If you are a law enforcement officer, you support vaccination. There is a lot of politics in this area. “

Jason Scalese, a California Republican Party delegate who attended one of Lee’s recent local fundraisers, said a candidate’s handling of COVID has “become the fourth leg of the Republican chair,” alongside social, economic, and foreign policy Ronald Reagan once universally defined pillars of the party. SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – While Anh ‘Peng’ Taylor was recovering from the wounds she suffered in a brutal attack on a street in San Francisco on Thursday, her family began details of their amazing journey from war-torn Southeast Asia to the Bay Area to share.

The 94-year-old was born in Haiphong in 1926 of Chinese and Vietnamese descent. She immigrated to Laos later in life when Vietnam was involved in a war. She worked as a cook in a restaurant she owned, where she met her future husband. They married in Bangkok and lived there for a few years before moving to Hawaii and then to San Francisco in the early 1970s.

Her husband, a US war veteran, died almost two years ago. She has lived in the same apartment in San Francisco’s criminal Tenderloin neighborhood for 45 years, taking her daily walks and waving to her neighbors.
