Aside from Jordan Hicks and Matt Chapman, most of the high-profile additions to this team have been flops.

That's largely not the fault of the players, as Jung Hoo Lee suffered a freak shoulder injury that will keep him out for the rest of the year. Blake Snell signed late and hasn't had a proper warm-up period to prepare his body for Major League Baseball.

One thing continues to trouble this team during the summer months: injuries.

Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the Giants have made another roster change after placing star outfielder Mike Yastrzemski on the injured list with an oblique muscle strain. Starting pitcher Keaton Winn is also being placed on the injured list with elbow inflammation.

In corresponding steps, San Francisco calls up the star young talents Luis Matos and David Villar.

Matos will get another chance at the major league level after making his debut in 2023, playing in 73 games with the Giants en route to a .250/.319/.342 batting average with two home runs, 16 extra-base hits and 14 RBI. He saw much less action this year, appearing in just 21 games before being demoted in the midst of his slump.

There were some opinions that if he appeared to have things under control at the plate, he wouldn't be able to stay in the minors for long.

Yastrzemski's injury gives him another chance to show the organization that he has what it takes to become an impact player in the major leagues.

However, how long he will stay on the show is uncertain.

Yastrzemski described his oblique strain as “minor” and is “glad it was caught so early.” He hopes to be back in action in 10 days.

For Winn, this is a disappointing development.

In his second year in the MLB, he looked like he could be a part of that rotation in the future, as he posted a 3.18 ERA in his first six starts this season. He spiraled out of control in May when he was forced out with right forearm discomfort and subsequently placed on the injured list.

This will be Winn's second stay on the injured list, which is never good for a young pitcher.

The former WWE star is open about her transition from gladiator Tyler Reks to the woman she is today

She and her family moved from San Francisco to Austin, Texas in before the pandemic but said she has had largely positive experiences in the LGBTQ+ hostile state

Transgender WWE star Gabi Tutt has opened up about the moment she broke down in tears after a store clerk misgendered her.

The wrestler turned influencer explained how she was left feeling ‘crushed’ after the incident with a salesperson in 2020.

It took place on one of the first times Tutt, 45, decided to venture out dressed as as a woman and two months before she officially came out.

‘I bee-lined for my truck and cried for half an hour,’ Tutt told the San Francisco Chronicle. ‘I didn’t present (as) female for over a week — it crushed me.’

Tutt, who competed in the WWE as dreadlocked gladiator Tyler Reks, frequently shares images charting her transition.

Trans influencer Gabbi Tutt, who used to compete in WWE as Tyler Reks, shared she cried after a store clerk misgendered her The upsetting incident took place in 2020, before Tutt had officially come out and on one of the first occasions she presented as female In January that same year, she moved from from San Francisco to Austin, Texas , one of the least welcoming states for LGBTQ + people

In January 2020, she and her wife Priscilla along with their daughter Mia moved from San Francisco to Austin, Texas, one of the least welcoming states for LGBTQ+ people.

Tutt revealed that she learned to use a gun shortly after moving to the state, receiving lessons from an Army member neighbor.

And in 2021, she decided to attend a New Years Eve party ‘in full presentation’ after being invited by the same neighbor.

‘I walked in the door and got a standing ovation,’ Tutt said.

While she acknowledged that her adoptive state has a bad reputation for trans rights, Tutt revealed that her experiences have markedly improved since the mall incident despite some online abuse.

The former wrestler also said her ability to get gender affirming procedures saved her life.

‘I would wake up every day feeling miserable, feeling like my life was incomplete,’ Tutt said. ‘And my heart breaks for every transgender human who is going through that.’

Tutt told how even as a child she would dress up in her mother’s clothes and gravitate towards girls toys.

Tutt’s wife Priscilla supported her transition, although the two are now in the process of separating The influencer shared how she learned to handle a gun after moving to Texas The 45-year-old was positive about her experiences in Texas, although recognized her wealth and privilege have allowed her to receive gender affirming procedures which have helped with the transition

But she buried her impulses after realizing they could get her in trouble. During puberty, she got into weightlifting and was scouted as a possible WWE star.

Tutt, performing as Reks, went on to have a career which spanned from 2008 to 2012, boasting appearances at Smackdown, Raw and Wrestlemania.

However, during the pandemic she was able to reflect on her gender identity and went on to transition.

‘I ask myself to this day, what made those feelings resurface at 36 years old,’ Tutt said. ‘And I haven’t been able to figure it out.’

Today, Tutt although in the process of splitting from her wife, runs a successful fitness business largely training women.

Priscilla has been supportive of Tutt’s transition and encouraged her to come out, while she remains close with Mia.

‘People will say, ‘You’re getting divorced, Gabbi,’ and yeah, the fairy-tale ending doesn’t always happen,’ Tutt said. ‘But I’m a successful businesswoman and I have a child who is well loved, and I am a trans woman.’

Tutt frequently shares insights into her transition, and hopes to be an example for other trans women.

Tutt frequently shares her journey as well as her fitness and lifestyle tips with her fans She told how she buried her feminine impulses as a child, only for them to bubble up again during the pandemic, prompting her transition Today the former wrestler has an active community of supporters and runs a successful fitness business Tutt is open about her journey, sharing everything from videos of her recovery from facial feminization surgery and the effects of hormone therapy and midlife puberty.

She now has 124,000 followers on Instagram, and shares her journey as well as her fitness and lifestyle tips with her fans.

She has discussed everything from videos of her recovery from facial feminization surgery and the effects of hormone therapy and midlife puberty.

‘I understand what it feels like to walk out in public with no confidence, to fear what people might say or do or how they might look at you,’ Tutt said. ‘The solution is learning to love who you are on the inside. And we first must accept who we are.’

However, not all aspects of her transition have been smooth.

During the summer, Tutt revealed that she was missing WWE more than she anticipated and expressed disappointment that she was ‘blocked’ from going backstage at Smackdown at Madison Square Garden.

A representative for WWE told NYTimes that the issue was caused by a ‘shortage of tickets,’ but an exception still wouldn’t be made to go backstage.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Everything is certainly bigger deep in the heart of Texas this baseball postseason, with a Lone Star State showdown for a spot in the World Series.

Defending world champion Houston is no stranger to playing long into October, now getting ready for its seventh consecutive American League Championship Series. This time, the Astros play the up-and-coming Texas Rangers, who led them in the AL West standings for most of the season but again didn’t fare well in the head-to-head matchups.

Both benches and bullpens cleared the last time the two teams played in Houston, where the ALCS opener will be played Sunday night.

“There’s a lot of intensity. … I’d say we’re rivals,” first-year Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday. “That’s the way baseball should be, I guess. They’re your opponent, so I don’t think it should be a lovefest out there.”

Especially with so much at stake when the instate rivals meet in the playoffs for the first time.

This will be only the 10th postseason series featuring teams from the same state in baseball’s divisional era (since 1969). It will be the first outside of California since the New York Mets and New York Yankees played in the 2000 World Series, which was a year before the Astros and Rangers had even met in a regular-season game.

Hall of Fame strikeout king Nolan Ryan pitched for both teams, finishing his career with the Rangers and later was part of the ownership group for their only World Series and ALCS appearances in 2010 and 2011. Their respective 40,000-seat retractable-roof stadiums are about 250 miles apart — Minute Maid Park in Houston opened in 2000, and Globe Life Field is in its fourth season.

Houston’s Dusty Baker and Bochy are the winningest active managers, both with more than 2,000 wins in 26 seasons managing in the big leagues. Bochy won three World Series titles with the San Francisco Giants and Baker finally got his first championship last season.

“Now me and Bruce Bochy need to battle,” the 74-year-old Baker said. ”I know Bruce and he knows me.”

They have gone head-to-head 214 times. Their only playoff meeting was the 2012 NLDS that Bochy’s Giants won in five games over Baker’s Cincinnati Reds.

Houston has dominated the AL West since the Rangers won the division in 2016, their last winning season before this year. The Astros have since been to the World Series four times, winning two of them, and the only time without a division title was the abbreviated 60-game regular season during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when as a wild-card team they lost a seven-game ALCS to Tampa Bay.

“They are the reigning champions, so you have to give them a respect for that,” Rangers catcher-designated hitter Mitch Garver said. “I’d say we have equally as good a chance to win as they did.”

Texas led the AL West for 148 of the first 149 days this season, and 159 overall. But when the Rangers lost at Seattle on the final day of the regular season, a day after clinching a playoff spot, and Houston won to match them at 90 wins, the Astros had another division title and a first-round playoff bye.

“A lot of people were wondering what it was gonna be like if the ’Stros didn’t win the division,” third baseman Alex Bregman said at the start of their champagne celebration after the regular-season finale. “I guess we’ll never know.”

The Rangers became a wild card and had to fly across the country — going over North Texas on the way — before sweeping the AL’s winningest teams from the regular season, Tampa Bay and Baltimore.

Houston, which won its ALDS over Minnesota in four games, had the division tiebreaker because of its 9-4 record against the Rangers this year. The Astros had clinched the season series even before their obliterating three-game sweep with 16 homers and 39 runs in Arlington from Sept. 4-6. That is the only time they have played since the benches cleared July 26, after the Astros won the previous two nights to move within a game of the division lead.

Yordan Alvarez got hit by a pitch right after Bregman homered in the first inning of that series finale, and Texas second baseman Marcus Semien took a retaliatory plunk in the third. Semien hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fourth, and exchanged words with catcher Martin Maldonado. An inning later, Semien scored on a grand slam by Adolis García, who was face-to-face with the catcher when the benches cleared, though no punches were thrown.

“It’s a heated rivalry. I understand why there’s some animosity,” Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe said.

Bochy was drafted by Houston and began his nine seasons as a big league catcher with the Astros from 1978-80, when they were still in the National League. Their first World Series came as National League champions in 2005.

Interleague play began in 1997 with NL and AL teams from corresponding divisions playing each other. Well, the Astros were in the NL Central and it wasn’t until 2001 that MLB changed things so they could play annually. They became division foes when Houston moved to the AL West in 2013.

“Sometimes it takes time to build that (rivalry). But you can see it developing here,” Bochy said. “You’re in the same state, so no, I’m not surprised how quickly it’s developing.”

Charlie Walker, who was the subject of a recent film starring Luke Cage‘s Mike Colter, has died at 89 years old.

In the 1960s, Walker led protests to open public construction jobs to Black contractors who were being excluded and deliberately discriminated and passed over for white truckers and white-dominated unions.

He later became one of the most successful truckers in the United States and was well-revered for cleaning up the San Francisco Bay after an oil spill in the early ’70s.

The post Charlie Walker, San Francisco’s Black Contractors’ Hero, Honored By Biopic Star Mike Colter In Light Of His Death appeared first on Blavity.

Walker’s legacy was immortalized in the recent biopic, I’m Charlie Walker.

“Charlie Walker was a true original. Cut from the same cloth as men like my own father and uncles,” said Colter. Men from the seventies era that took opportunity by the horns. Charlie was unapologetic about his ambition and desire to carve out a place in the world. He made a way for his family and set an example for generations to come. He was a character that moved through the world with a certainty and swagger that made people take notice. He deserved to have his story told. It was an honor to portray him. He will never be forgotten. My condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace”

I’m Charlie Walker producer Mike Regan said, “On behalf of our Executive Producer Bill O’Keeffe and our entire cast and crew we are all devastated by Charlie’s passing, but at the same time we are here to celebrate his amazing life. Our thoughts are with his beautiful wife Annette, his entire family and his beloved community of Bayview Hunters Point San Francisco. We could go on and on about Charlie’s accomplishments and the impact he had on so many, but we also know Charlie would tell us to get back to work. And that is exactly what we will do to continue to honor his legacy and amazing life”

“Like many, I was honored and privileged to spend a lot of time with Charlie, as he regaled in stories and wisdom,” said I’m Charlie Walker director Patrick Gilles. “He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.”

In 2022, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution to honor Walker by naming a street in Bayview Hunters Point as “Charlie Way.”

Walker is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annette Walker, his daughters, Charlette Carnegia and Ruedell Walker, his son, Charles Walker Jr, his 11 grandchildren, which includes his eldest grandchild, Geoffrea Morris, whom he assisted in raising, and his 13, great-grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews and community friends.

The best team in the NFC already added an All-Pro to the secondary.

More moves are coming around the NFL.

Teams looking to bolster their rosters for the second half have until Tuesday’s trade deadline at 4 p.m. EDT.

Several established veterans could end up switching uniforms. There were a slew of trades at this time last season.

The Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t wait to upgrade at safety, acquiring two-time All-Pro Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans earlier this week. Byard is a significant addition at a position that was depleted by injury and the departure of C.J. Gardner-Johnson in free agency.

“Obviously, I feel like I’m a great player, but at the end of the day, it’s not really about that,” Byard said Wednesday. “It’s about what I do now that I’m here. I had a great career in Tennessee, but I’m a Philadelphia Eagle now and that’s what it’s more about — moving forward, making plays and winning games.

People are also reading…

“This is my eighth season and I’m feeling really good, coming off a bye week, too. I’m definitely feeling fresh right now. This team has a great culture and I’m just looking to add to that. It feels good to wake up 6-1.”

Here are five players who could end up finding new homes:

DERRICK HENRY

The Titans (2-4) already traded one star on defense so dealing their best offensive player wouldn’t be a surprise. Henry’s production is down on a struggling offense. He’s run for 425 yards, a 4.3-yard average and three touchdowns. The 29-year-old Henry can be a free agent after the season so he should be considered a half-season rental.

The Ravens (5-2) and Buccaneers (3-3) are potential leading suitors for Henry. Baltimore lost running back J.K. Dobbins in Week 1. Lamar Jackson is their leading rusher followed by Gus Edwards.

The Buccaneers have the fourth-worst rushing offense in the league and only one team is averaging fewer yards per carry. Henry makes sense for Tampa Bay even though the team wants to build around younger players. The NFC South is wide open and the two-time reigning division champs are in the mix.

Don’t discount the Cowboys (4-2) despite Jerry Jones’ declaration that Dallas isn’t making calls. For the right price, the Eagles (6-1) could pull off yet another deal with the Titans. Getting wide receiver A.J. Brown from Tennessee in 2022 helped elevate Jalen Hurts into an MVP runner-up.

AP FILE PHOTO

CHASE YOUNG

The No. 2 overall pick in 2020 could be on the way out in Washington. The Commanders (3-4) already declined to pick up Young’s fifth-year option. He has five sacks in six games, but Washington has already given a big contract to defensive tackle Daron Payne and has defensive lineman Montez Sweat also due for a new deal.

The Dolphins (5-2), Lions (5-2) and Jaguars (5-2) are among the top possibilities if the Commanders deal Young.

BRIAN BURNS

A two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher, Burns is in the final year of his contract and the winless Carolina Panthers (0-6) need to accumulate more draft capital after trading a slew of picks to move up to No. 1 to take Bryce Young this season.

Burns has four sacks this season and would be a significant addition for teams such as Miami, Detroit, Buffalo (4-3), Jacksonville (5-2) and even San Francisco (5-2). The Panthers had an opportunity to move Burns last year before the deadline but they held on and aren’t winning with him.

JUSTIN SIMMONS

The three-time, second-team All-Pro safety is among several Broncos (2-5) who could be on the move. Denver is headed nowhere and trading veterans for draft capital makes sense.

Simmons is not only a solid, do-it-all player but he’s a strong leader in the locker room and would fit nicely with contending teams. The Seahawks (4-2), Bengals (3-3) and Steelers (4-2) could have interest.

MARQUISE BROWN

“Hollywood” Brown already was traded once from Baltimore to Arizona last year. He hasn’t matched the production he had with the Ravens in 2021, but only had 11 games with Kyler Murray last season.

Brown has 32 catches for 383 yards and three TDs this season and would be a big boost for an offense that needs a speedy receiver to complement its group. The Chiefs (6-1) seem to be the best fit, but the Chargers (2-4) and even Panthers could be among many suitors.

Alvin Dedeaux has been fly fishing in Texas rivers since he was a little boy.

As one of the most in-demand fly fishermen in Texas — his tours in Central Texas and the Gulf Coast are booked out indefinitely — Dedeaux has made a name for himself through his immense knowledge and truly sparkling personality. The 59-year-old’s adoration for fly fishing is palpable, even through a computer screen.

That’s because Dedeaux was practically born to wade into Texas rivers. Initiated into fly fishing as a 12-year-old, his love for the sport bloomed when he moved to Austin in 1982, giddily hopping into Central Texas rivers with his dad, maternal grandparents, uncles, and cousins.

Article continues below this ad

Dedeaux took a detour into the burgeoning Austin music scene in his early 20s. But even as the frontman of punk-funk band Bad Mutha Goose and the Brothers Grimm, a popular act assembled by former Big Boys guitarist Tim Kerr, he couldn’t push fly fishing from his mind.

So, when the band filmed its video for “Be Somebody” in the early 1990s, Dedeaux was in his element. The video cuts between the two sides of Dedeaux’s life. He’s onstage, shirtless, moving a crowd. And there he is, probably for the first time in music history, rapping, “Look at me, I’m on top of the world,” wearing a vest, casting a line, half submerged in a Texas river.

He remembers, during this time, even after headlining shows with Nirvana in San Francisco, wishing he was back in that same spot. Onstage, he was ready to bolt for the water.

“As soon as I get off this stage, I’m going to get in my car, drive to New Mexico and go fishing all week,” he remembers thinking. “I’ll see these guys the next gig.”

Bad Mutha Goose released its lone full-length album, Tower Of Babel, in 1991, and broke up shortly after.

Dedeaux says he’s grateful for his time in music, because the band was successful enough that he could quit his day job and have the flexibility to do just that. But his first love, his true love, was elsewhere.

“I don’t miss the music career at all, but I definitely appreciate it for what it gave me,” he says. “If I had my choice between being onstage or being on the water, I pick being on the water any day.”

Article continues below this ad

Shortly after he left the band, Dedeaux started working at Austin Anglers, a local shop that helped him make contacts in the fly fishing scene in Central Texas. When the business closed in 2004, Dedeaux ramped up his business taking clients out on the Guadalupe, lower Colorado, and Llano Rivers to catch fish. In 2011, he started All Water Guides, in order to handle his booming guide business.

He also started filming his adventures — and his misadventures. In fact, some of his most popular videos include tangled reels, snapped fly rods, and the complete absence of caught fish.

“I think people relate to that, because that is actually a much more common experience for people doing this type of stuff, whether it’s fishing or hunting or whatever,” he says. “There’s a lot more times where you don’t succeed. But you can still have a great time.”

Dedeaux’s earnestness is part of why he’s become so popular.

Despite what Dedeaux knows about the majesty of Texas rivers, he says that Texas Parks & Wildlife actually considers these bodies of water underutilized in the state. Texans are more prone to spending time on the lake or on the beaches of the Gulf.

Still, about a decade ago, Dedeaux starting noticing the amount of trash accumulating in the Lower Colorado River, particularly after storms.

For the sparse amount of people that use the Lower Colorado recreationally, at least compared to other bodies of water, “the amount of trash that ends up in the river is just shocking,” he says.

Article continues below this ad

Dedeaux has benefited, materially, spiritually, and otherwise, from his associations with the Lower Colorado River. How could he repay its waters? In 2018, Dedeaux started the LoCo Trash Bash, an annual event to haul bottles and cans and other types of garbage out of the lower Colorado.

An event that grows in size every year — they pulled six tons of trash in 2018 and more than 22 tons last year — the LoCo Trash Bash comes from a place of gratitude.

“For my birthday, I decided that I should give back to the river and I was going to go out and fill my boat up with trash,” Dedeaux says. “And that was going to be my birthday present back to the river.”

The event, which takes place on October 28 this year, is more than a cleanup, he says. It is also meant to raise awareness of the existence of the lower Colorado, which some people have to see for themselves.

Article continues below this ad

In the same way, Dedeaux admits that the LoCo Trash Bash is a double-edged sword for river-lovers like himself. As the event has educated more people about the majesty of these hidden gems, he’s starting to notice that the solitude of an empty Texas river is a bygone concept.

It’s still an overwhelmingly net positive to Dedeaux, who considers himself as much of a conservationist as he does an outdoorsman.

“When I’m too old, or when I’m gone, hopefully somebody will continue with a trash cleanup,” he says. “And we’ll have this beautiful, pristine river right in the middle of this major metropolitan area forever.”

BBC Dragon’s Den star Steven Bartlett said he’s looking for someone to fill a position for “the most interesting job” he has ever hired for which requires someone to film his every move.

The British entrepreneur is also known for his wildly popular podcast, ‘The Diary Of A CEO.’

Bartlett, who is the founder and CEO of Social Chain, an integrated social media company, has shared an advertisement on his LinkedIn profile, searching for a full-time videographer who is “able and willing to follow [him] around the clock and record pretty much everything” for a new YouTube series.

READ MORE: The stunning island beach under 90 minutes from Manchester which ‘could be Barbados’

No degree is necessary as Bartlett says he mainly cares about “your attitude, your work-ethic, your desire to learn and that you’re a good fit for our existing team culture.”

While videography experience is preferred, he and his team are also “willing to teach the right person, with the right attitude the skills they need for the role.”

Additionally, he says he “would love to give this role to someone who has a desire to start their own business in some capacity one day – hopefully this exposure will help you learn about the inner workings of various businesses.”

In the job advert, Bartlett goes on to describe what the job would entail which includes everything from travelling around the world to following him to the gym.

The six details he gives reveals you’ll go everywhere Bartlett goes – “including on international trips to international offices and when we take The Diary Of A CEO to LA and New York.”

You’ll be behind the scenes in his businesses and get to see and record how they are building these companies – Flight Story (Bartlett’s marketing company operating between London, Manchester & LA), thirdweb (software company based predominantly in San Francisco and New York), Team DOAC (The Diary Of A CEO team of 30~ based in London) and more.

The job will require to document the process of launching and creating his new Flight Story HQ – a 12,000 sq ft industrial building taken from The Truman Brewery in the heart of Shoreditch.

Other projects the videographer will get to work on include, The Money School, their prison project and supporting the British Red Cross in Turkey.

Not all situations will be professional as Bartlett wants recording to continue while he is at the gym, training for soccer-aid, DJ-ing and all the other “random things” he gets up to.

Applying is easy, as the businessman says simply send 3 bullet points explaining why you’re the right person for the role to work@stevenbartlett.com and include a link to your Linkedin profile in your email.

Successful applicants will be contacted this week for an interview.

(KTLA) — The Los Angeles Dodgers are in Milwaukee this week for a three-game series with the NL Central-leading Brewers, and while team unity is important during long road trips, one Dodger star is keeping his distance from the rest of the team “just in case.”

According to Orange County Register reporter Bill Plunkett, outfielder Mookie Betts rented an Airbnb with some friends while the rest of his Dodger teammates stayed in a legendary 130-year-old hotel in Milwaukee.

The reason, Betts said, is due to long-rumored reports of hauntings and other creepy happenings at the Pfister Hotel.

The Pfister Hotel is one of the most historic buildings in Milwaukee. The famed luxury hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has hosted billionaires, diplomats and more — it’s also rumored to be home to an intrepid spirit or two.

Betts, 30, who has stayed at the hotel in years past, said he opted for the modern setting instead of the historic grounds “just in case” rumors of the specters and spirits turned out to be true.

“You can tell me what happened after,” he joked with Plunkett. “I just don’t want to find out myself.”

An eight-year MLB veteran, Betts has stayed at his fair share of hotels, resorts and high-rises over the years, but the Pfister Hotel has affected his sleep schedule in recent stays.

“I couldn’t sleep,” Betts told the OC Register. “Every noise, I’d be like, ‘Is that something?’”

The Pfister Hotel has been the subject of haunting rumors for decades, and it’s one of the oldest hotels that MLB teams regularly visit for road trips. It’s led to many reports of strange and creepy occurrences from the players brave enough to stay overnight.

Michael Young, former seven-time MLB All Star and one-time Dodger, told ESPN the Magazine that he heard footsteps “stomping” around in his room. He recalled telling his ghostly visitor to “make yourself at home” but keep the noise down.

Bryce Harper, a two-time National League MVP, said he had a strange experience when staying in the historic hotel, claiming that his clothes he had laid out the night before ended up on the floor and a table was moved across the room.

“I honestly thought there might be someone in my room. I had no idea what the hell just happened, so I actually looked around, and then I checked to see if the door was still latched, and it was,” Harper said. He told reporters that he thought he may have been the victim of a prank by one of his teammates.

In 2018, Cardinals players Carlos Martinez and Marcell Ozuna bunked up together after allegedly spotting one of the Pfister’s unaccounted for guests. Martinez, a pitcher, started the next day’s game against the Brewers and was hammered by Milwaukee’s batters and was pulled after giving up seven runs in only four innings.

So maybe Betts’ extra precautions aren’t that crazy, even if the change of venue simply promises a sounder sleep. If the Dodgers want to maintain their spot near the top of the National League, he and his teammates will probably need to be well-rested.

Let’s just hope Betts and his friends didn’t mistakenly book a stay at one of Airbnb’s most haunted hangouts.

The Dodgers dropped their first game of their series against the Brewers in Milwaukee, but were on their way to winning the second game on Tuesday. The series concludes Wednesday.
