(KRON) – A man was hospitalized Wednesday night following a robbery in the Mission District, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The incident happened around 10:05 p.m. at Duboce Avenue and Guerrero Street, where the suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a metal pipe.

Cell phone thefts are on the rise in San Francisco

The suspect stole the victim’s cellphone, gym bag, wallet, tablet and cash, SFPD said. The unknown victim is a 54-year-old man who is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a 38-year-old man, tried to flee but was later arrested. Police did not release the man’s name.

There were at least eight cell phone thefts in San Francisco last week.

Yelp added a disclaimer to Hilda and Jesse’s page stating that the site is being monitored by its support team after a bombing of negative reviews earned the restaurant a one-star rating.

According to an Instagram post from Hilda and Jesse, an all-day brunch restaurant that opened its doors on Nov. 1, the staff “politely asked” officers to leave.

“We respect the San Francisco Police Department and are grateful for the work they are doing,” the post said.

The statement also added, “This is not a political statement, we did what we thought was best for our employees.”

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott tweeted a response Saturday night: “The San Francisco Police Department stands for safety with respect, even if it means respecting wishes that our officers and I find discouraging and personally disappointing.

“I believe the vast majority of San Franciscans welcome their police officers, who deserve to know that they are valued for the difficult work we ask of them – in their uniforms – to protect our neighborhoods and businesses.”

San Francisco Police today announced the arrest of five suspects allegedly responsible for a series of at least three home robberies in the Ingleside neighborhood.

The three raids occurred in August and September, and the department has issued search warrants and arrests in several locations in the Bay Area and beyond over the past two weeks. The five suspects were named Devontae Rutherford, 26, of Richmond, 37-year-old George Redmond of Richmond, 27-year-old Adrian Landers of Elk Grove, 39-year-old Travis Fields of Stockton, and 25. identified -year-old Marvin Williams of Antioch.

The officers arrived on site and met with the victims, a 62-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man. The 62-year-old victim told officers the suspects broke into his garage, physically restrained him and forced him into the house where the suspects found the other victims. A suspect then hit the victim with a gun, injuring them. The suspects forced all victims into a room while the other suspects ransacked their homes and stole US currency, jewelry and other items. The suspects then fled in a vehicle. The victim, who was hit with a gun, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Interpreting services were not requested. The fourth suspect was not seen in the house. At around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, San Francisco police officers at Ingleside Station on the 600 block on Paris Street answered for a report of a home robbery. The officers arrived on site and met with the victim, a 43-year-old man. The victim said he was in his room when an unidentified male suspect entered and pointed a gun at him. The suspect held the victim at gunpoint while two other suspects searched the victim’s home. The suspects took away jewelry and watches before escaping the house.

All five people were charged with first-degree robbery and burglary, with crime reforms added.

While the SFPD has apparently accelerated the pace of its years of reform efforts after the state’s criticism of its slow progress, the last stragglers on the list of 272 reform recommendations by the Ministry of Justice can take up to four years to implement, according to the SFPD’s monthly update to the police commission from Wednesday.

The Police Commission appears to have taken a more laissez-faire approach to holding the SFPD accountable for the reforms first unveiled in 2016, but this timeline, while not surprising, is as problematic as ever, according to former ACLU Police Practice Attorney John Crew.

“The big picture is that SFPD appears to be much more concerned with doing major police reform than actually doing the most important parts of it,” Crew said of the department’s update.

The Collaborative Reform Initiative includes 272 recommendations to the SFPD in a 2016 report by the US Department of Justice. Supervision of the department’s progress was transferred to the California Department of Justice after the Federal Department of Justice withdrew from the program under then-President Trump.

In the past year, over 120 reforms achieved “substantial implementation” and the total number implemented and implemented rose to 193 this summer – progress was announced in front of the Police Commission on Wednesday evening. Another 60 are waiting for external approval. The reforms cover five categories: violence, bias, citizen police, accountability and recruitment, recruitment and retention.

“The work really rests on our collaborative reform partners right now,” said Catherine McGuire, executive director of the SFPD’s Strategic Management Bureau, referring to the 59 reforms awaiting external validation by and from the California Department of Justice. SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – San Francisco police arrested two people on suspicion of murder in connection with a fatal shootout in the Bayview neighborhood last year.

According to investigators in the murder, the victim was found shot dead near Keith Street and Thomas Avenue on October 24, 2020 at around 3:50 p.m. Officials and paramedics helped the victim, but he died on the scene.

The San Francisco coroner’s office identified the victim as Mourice Green, 41, of Antioch.

Investigators identified two people as suspects in Green’s death and received search warrants issued earlier this month in two homes in San Francisco.

On March 4, officers arrested 50-year-old Willie Woodson on 3rd Street and Oakdale Avenue. The following day, officials arrested Denise Lasha Johnson, 29, from a house on the 2500 block of Arelious Walker Drive.

Both Woodson and Johnson have been booked for murder in San Francisco. You carried a loaded gun with the intent to commit a crime and you were a prohibited person carrying a gun in public. Johnson is also charged with conspiracy.

Police said while searching Johnson’s home, investigators found another person at the residence and developed a likely reason for arresting him on firearms charges. This suspect, identified as 29-year-old Romony Wilson, was detained in the county jail on suspicion of being a convicted criminal in possession of firearms, possession of assault weapons, possession of a large capacity magazine, and endangering children.
