As George Kittle’s football career has grown over the years, so has relationship with his wife, Claire Kittle.

The pair met during their freshman year at The University of Iowa in 2012, at which George played for the school’s football team and Claire played for their women’s basketball team. The two graduated in 2016 and George was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers the following year.

One year after making his NFL debut, George popped the question to Claire in 2018.

“I had this big trick. I told her that the 49ers were doing a couples photoshoot for the whole Niners,” George said in an interview with NFL Films in November 2023. Despite getting injured during a preseason game the night before, he pushed through the pain to get down on one knee.

Gisele Bundchen and Jessica Simpson aren’t the only celebrity football WAGs in town. Check out who else is in love with an NFL player!

The two continue to show their love for each other before each of George’s NFL games. “We have a pretty good pregame routine down,” Claire told NFL Films in November 2023. “He comes over and says hi to his mom, dad me, and you can just tell, like, the energy and he’s just, like, ready to freaking go. It’s so fun to be able to watch him in that moment do what he loves.”

Scroll down to relive George and Claire’s biggest relationship moments:

2012

Claire told ESPN in August 2019 that she first met George when he stopped her on campus to complement her pink motorcycle helmet.

“My main man :D,” she wrote alongside her first-ever Instagram photo with George in September of that year. George shared pics from one of Claire’s basketball games via Instagram two months later. “@clairetill3 is an iowa bball phenom,” he captioned the post.

May 2016

“Congratulations to my bear on graduating today!” George captioned an Instagram pic of himself holding Claire, who was dressed in a cap and gown. “So glad you let me be a part of your journey. Can’t wait to spend the next 10 days on a beach with you.”

December 2016

George graduated from The University of Iowa seven months later. “I think she’s taking credit for me graduating

April 2017

Claire showed her support for George ahead of the 2017 NFL draft via Instagram. “No matter what happens, I’ll be right there by your side ready to take on whatever comes our way!” she wrote at the time. “I am so proud of you and the way you’ve made your dream a reality.
August 2018

“We messed around for about 15 minutes and then the photographer asked me to face the ocean because the breeze was hitting my hair just right – I fell for it,” Claire wrote of their surprise engagement photo shoot via her blog. “Everyone was talking to me and getting me into the correct position. George’s mom and sister kept yelling at me, which made me laugh and ultimately distracted me from the time it was taking George to get down on one knee behind me. The photographer finally said ‘now I want you to turn around and face George.’ So, I turn around and there he is …”

She continued: “Down on one knee and looking as handsome as ever! I had the biggest smile on my face and I literally couldn’t believe what was happening! Then, he said ‘Claire bear, I think it’s been long enough, will you marry me?’ It was such a George thing to say, and it was absolutely perfect! I was so giddy that I couldn’t even speak. I did eventually manage to say YES! I think the whole photo shoot captured our unique personalities and depicted our relationship accurately. He absolutely knocked it out of the park and went above and beyond any expectations I ever had.”

The couple revealed that Claire had suffered an ectopic pregnancy one month prior. “I felt my soul leave my body as I knew exactly what that meant. After hours of evaluating options and speaking with doctors in the ER the decision was made to go into surgery that night,” Claire wrote via Instagram “This type of pregnancy is extremely dangerous for the mother if not found early. I’m so thankful for the nurses and doctors who found this soon enough and to the Niners for allowing George to sprint out of the building at any given moment.”

She went on to call George her “strength” through the difficult time. “We leaned on each other like we never have before. I’m thankful my mom, dad and George’s parents were all here to help us.”

Claire concluded her message on a heartfelt note, writing, “There’s strength in stories and I hope you can find comfort in ours. These types of things need to be talked about more often. Please keep George and I in your prayers as we don’t really know what to expect moving forward. I do know God gives us exactly what we need when we need it.”

November 2023

“Every single day right before I leave, she tells me to ‘kick some ass today,’ which I absolutely love that” George shared during an interview for NFL Films.

When asked what she loves most about her husband, Claire responded by saying, “Everything.” She continued: “His personality. Obviously, we were friends before we started dating, so I fell in love with that prior. And he’s just so funny, like, everybody loves him.”

Later that month, George was named on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Sports list for his work cofounding the sports camp Tight End University with Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen.

            CHRISTINE MAXA
Special to the Daily Sun

In Arizona, wildlife flourishes, and around the beginning of September, everything is elk. They announce their season with a blast of their bugle — an edgy, high-pitched scream that sounds downright eerie in a hollow.

That trademark bugle is not the only distinctive feature about elk. They have a surprising connection to some seafaring and jungle mammals, and they sometime like to chuckle.

Like every member of the deer family, bull elk like to hang with other males while the cows band together with the calves. When mating season starts, bulls starting as young as two years use their bugle to find a mate.

The bugle starts low, gradually climbs to a high note, hangs onto the high note and then drops back to the low note with a gruff at the end. That high note, as distinctive as it is curious, doesn’t match the 700-pound-plus source because it doesn’t come from the bull’s vocal cords.

People are also reading…

Scientists discovered the high note is more of a whistle produced in an area called the glottis, situated between the bull’s vocal cords in the throat and then projected through the nasal cavities. The call can measure as high as 4,000 Hz and carry for miles.

Sometimes the bull adds a series of sharp guttural sounds called a chuckle. The bull also uses a special glunking sound to communicate with cows. The call, produced deep in the bull’s throat, sounds like a squishy thump.

Cow calls are short and naggy with an occasional long and strong screech. A calf call is tiny and light, like the mew of a cat.

The bugling can start as early as late August from bulls 4 years and older; younger elk start in September. If you catch sight of an August bugler, he will probably have an impressive rack.

“A lot of people talk about elk horns,” said Allen Zufelt, Arizona Game & Fish Region 2 Terrestrial Game Specialist. “They’re not horns, they’re antlers, and they’re shed every year. They will continue to increase in size until they’re 6 to 8 years old. After that they’ll decrease in size.”

Both genders of elk have two canine teeth. They’re remnants of tusks, like walruses, elephants and wild boars have, that their prehistoric ancestors once had.

“They’re ivory teeth,” Zufelt said. “The same residual kind of canine located in their upper jaws.”

The elk that currently roam the state are Cervuc canadensis or Rocky Mountain elk. But Arizona once had a native elk population whose existence didn’t trickle into scientific circles until 1882 when renowned naturalist E.W. Nelson started tracking the clan. By the time Nelson penned a report on the elk for the American Museum of Natural History in 1902, the species had been extirpated.

Nelson called Arizona Elk, which he referred to as Cervus merriami, as “the last of the large game mammals to become known to science in America.” The species stayed under the radar because of their isolated existence in an area where, Nelson wrote, “the idea of game protection is very recent.”

At the time, the elk in the U.S. had been dwindling from an estimated 10 million and would eventually reach a low of 90,000; that’s almost half of the remaining elk lived in and around Yellowstone National Park. The park ended up transplanting more than 13,500 Rocky Mountain elk, to points around the nation from 1912-1967. During that time, 217 came to Arizona.

When the transplantations started, George Hunt was governor of Arizona and a member of the Elks U.S.A. Globe lodge. He and Winslow lodge member C.M. Bledsoe coordinated Arizona’s first shipment that traveled by train on January 31, 1913 to Winslow, Arizona. The elk were then wheeled by wagon to a draw in the Chevelon Canyon system. Two shipments of transplants to other locations in Arizona occurred in the 1920s.

The Arizona Game & Fish Department (AGF) estimates Arizona currently has about 35,000 elk that are all descendants of the Yellowstone transplants, and they sure have gotten around.

“Elk in general are very nomadic,” Zufelt explained. “We have elk that moved to all habitats, from the tops of the San Francisco Peaks to as far as some of the canals around Yuma. They’re originally a plains animal, and they are very good at living in almost any habitat. Once they get to a place, they’re pretty good at persisting.”

That would describe the elk that wandered up to the Grand Canyon National Park from Williams and Flagstaff sometime around 1966. About 95% of the park elk remain in and around Grand Canyon Village; a 2015 survey counted 200. Though they must mingle with millions of visitors, they hydrate from precipitation that collects on the ground, puddles that form at water stations and quick nips of nectar from hummingbird feeders; they find food in the form of forb, grass and visitor handouts; and they have no predators. Life, in other words, is good.

If you’re interested in spotting elk, you don’t have to travel far to find them. AGF game specialists have been flying elk surveys in the area, and Zufelt reported they spotted 3,000 in the past week.

“One of the best places a person has to more or less guarantee seeing elk this time of the year is Mormon Lake,” Zufelt said. “The elk make use of the lake bottom in the summertime. They’ll be breaking up in the next couple of weeks as hunting season starts and they’ll be breeding. So they’ll move around a little bit. But there were 150-200 elk out in the lake bottom just the other day.”

If you go to Mormorn Lake, be careful. Elk accidents have decreased substantially along the freeways due to customized fencing. But the smaller roads, like Lake Mary Road, still have frequent elk crossings.

“The best thing I can say is slow down when you’re driving at night,” Zufelt advised. “Drive courteously and pay attention, so you’re not distracted because it just takes a split second for an elk to step out in front of you.”

SAN FRANCISCO — When Twitter opened its gleaming headquarters in a rough patch of downtown nearly a decade ago, the company’s blue bird logo symbolized a new era for a city struggling with urban blight, homelessness and 10 percent unemployment.

“It is critical that companies like Twitter be convinced they can stay here and that they are welcome, and we welcome them,” said then-Mayor Ed Lee, who championed the so-called “Twitter tax break” to dissuade the growing company from leaving town.

But as Twitter has evolved under owner Elon Musk — most recently into something called “X” — its relationship with San Francisco has become increasingly fraught.

Since Musk took ownership last October, the company formerly known as Twitter has been sued for failing to pay millions in rent and investigated for illegally converting offices into bunk rooms after Musk said he was sleeping on a couch on the seventh floor. Amid an exodus of tech employees from the city, Twitter has shed more than 80 percent of its workforce — essentially hollowing out its headquarters.

The most recent indignity came Monday, when the company brought in a crane to pluck the Twitter logo off the building’s facade, disrupting two lanes of traffic at a busy intersection and prompting a 911 call.

Meanwhile, Musk has hardly been a gracious neighbor. In viral tweets, he has derided San Francisco as a “derelict zombie apocalypse” and erroneously attributed the murder of a tech executive on a downtown street to rampant “violent crime in SF.”

“Even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately,” Musk griped after the April murder, for which an acquaintance of the dead man now faces trial. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins blasted Musk’s comments as “reckless” and spreading “misinformation.”

“There are business leaders in the city who want to engage in solutions, and the mayor wants to work with them,” said Jeff Cretan, a spokesperson for San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D). “But to have one person who has a megaphone who creates all this tumult, it creates this perception of chaos.”

Twitter and Musk did not respond to requests for comment.

The world’s richest man has long been known for his brash, shoot-from-the hip style. Musk has had many other run-ins with government officials, including as chief executive of electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, which has come under scrutiny from federal regulators as new technologies such as “Full Self-Driving” are tested on public roads.

In the early days of the pandemic, Musk publicly defied local officials by reopening his Tesla factory in the Bay Area. He later unleashed an expletive-laden tirade on a quarterly earnings call, calling California’s strict quarantine policies “fascist,” and made good on a threat to move Tesla’s headquarters to Texas.

“California used to be the land of opportunity,” Musk told the conservative satirical site Babylon Bee. “Now it has become and is becoming more so the land of overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation and scorn.”

Since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion last fall, Musk has made major changes — reducing the workforce, increasing the number of subscription services and appointing a new chief executive. His recent decision to change the site’s name to X has generated additional controversy, spurring bewilderment among users while raising questions about brand management and copyright (rival Meta holds a registered trademark for “X” in relation to online social networking services).

It’s a far cry from the days when Twitter founder Jack Dorsey ran the company with Zen-like calm. Eager to keep Dorsey’s firm from moving south to Silicon Valley, where taxes were lower and other major tech companies were setting up shop, San Francisco officials offered in 2011 to waive the city’s 1.5 percent payroll tax for businesses that moved to the Mid-Market neighborhood, then struggling with high vacancies and visible homelessness.

The Twitter tax break was designed to bring new jobs and retail to the area as well as reduce crime. Twitter was seen as an anchor tenant. But while the tax break spurred a boom in tech companies in the area, results were mixed when the tax break sunset after eight years in 2019.

The city’s budget had doubled and the unemployment rate had fallen from 9 percent to 2.6 percent. But Twitter and other beneficiaries of the tax break were blamed for many of the woes plaguing the city today, including sky-high rents and gentrification.

Meanwhile, promises by the companies to help their low-income neighbors in exchange for lower taxes have done little to improve the city’s vexing homelessness crisis. The neighborhood — just a few blocks from City Hall — still struggles with vacant office space and empty storefronts.

To some, Musk’s apparent disdain for the city feels like salt in the wound.

“There’s never been any real … responsibility taken for policy decisions that may have contributed to today’s street conditions,” said Sara Shortt, a longtime local activist who works with the city’s homeless and opposed the tax break at the time. “Years later, it’s only insult to injury to have this ultrarich egomaniac land here, bad-mouth us and steamroll over us.”

As San Francisco struggles to rebound from the pandemic — working to retain and attract companies and lure workers back downtown — city leaders are treading a fine line with Musk.

“I want to be supportive of (Twitter),” said Matt Dorsey, who serves on the Board of Supervisors and whose district includes the company’s headquarters. “If they are bringing people to work, and employing people, I want them in my district. I don’t want to be a city that is running people out of town.”

But Musk’s antics, his disregard for rules and his gloom-and-doom tweets are frustrating. Cretan said the mayor has been meeting with business leaders to talk about how the city can work with them to stay in the city. For example, he said, Breed recently met with executives at Visa who said they were committed to San Francisco and expressed interest in being more involved in its future.

“Those are the conversations we want to be having with business leaders,” Cretan said.

On Monday, the commotion over removal of the Twitter logo was resolved relatively swiftly. According to a statement from police and reports on social media, police received a call around 1 p.m. regarding a “possible unpermitted street closure.” Twitter’s crane left by midafternoon, leaving the logo removal haphazardly unfinished. The blue bird that has loomed over the Mid-Market neighborhood for the past decade remains, alongside the “er” and the outline of the now-missing “@twitt.”

On Tuesday, Patrick Hannan, a spokesperson for the city’s Department of Building Inspection, said no permit is required to remove letters or symbols from the sign. But, he said, any letters or symbols intended to replace them “would require a permit to ensure consistency with the historic nature of the building and to ensure the new additions are safely attached to the sign.”

By close of day Tuesday, however, no permits had been filed.

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma get engaged at Disneyland

Rebel Wilson delighted fans after announcing her engagement to Ramona Agruma in a sweet Instagram post this week.

The Pitch Perfect star shared the happy news with two adorable pictures posted to her social media account as the couple enjoyed a trip to Disneyland.

Rebel and Ramona posed in matching pink and white striped sweaters with navy blue hearts as they showed off the statement diamond ring that adorned Ramona’s finger.

The pair had a whirlwind romance and even kept their relationship under wraps for months before finally confirming the news on social media.

In May 2022, the Bridesmaids actress alluded to her new relationship as she opened up about her attempts to get back on the dating scene.

To celebrate the news of the couple’s engagement, Mirror took a look at their relationship timeline…

early 2022

Both attended Vanity Fair’s Oscar party(GETTY)

The How To Be Single actress was first spotted with Ramona at the NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers in January last year.

Two months later, Rebel invited Ramona to Vanity Fair’s Oscar party.

Both looked otherworldly in sparkling floor-length dresses as they posed side by side.

No one commented on the nature of their relationship at the time.

May and June 2022

She confirmed the relationship in June 2022

Rebel briefly dated Jacob Busch before finding love with Ramona.

The actress began dating Jacob, who is part of the wealthy Anheuser-Busch family, between September 2020 and February 2021.

After the split, she kept her love life out of the spotlight until early 2022.

“I wanted to consciously push myself to go out with some people and have this experience that I know isn’t normal, but it really helped me figure out what I like and don’t like,” she shared u up ? Podcast in May.

A month later, Rebel and Ramona went official with their relationship on Instagram.

“I thought I was looking for a Disney prince… but maybe all this time I really needed a Disney princess #loveislove,” Rebel wrote on her page.

Summer 2022

The two traveled through Europe together(@rebelwilson/Instagram)

She shared many snaps of her trip(@rebelwilson/Instagram)

After going Instagram official, the duo shared glimpses of their relationship with posts on social media.

They even enjoyed several vacations together, with the Is’t It Romantic star previously sharing a snap of the two enjoying their time in Italy.

The couple looked happier than ever, and Rebel captioned the shot: “ciao bellas.”

The snap was inundated with comments from Rebel’s famous friends, with Paris Hilton typing, “So happy for you love!” while Vas J Morgan commented on a series of red heart emojis.

At the time, an insider told Us Weekly that they “had a great time with friends” during their summer vacation.

October and November 2022

Rumors of an engagement began to spread(Rebel Wilson/Instagram)

Rumors of an engagement began circulating in October when Rebel wore a massive diamond ring to the annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

Her outing came after sending fans into a frenzy when she shared a loved-up snap with Ramona, with the actress wearing the diamond ring in the picture.

A few weeks later, a source claimed, “They were making out in a corner telling everyone how excited they are to be engaged.”

It wasn’t long before the couple shocked the world when Rebel announced that she had become a mother through a surrogate.

She shared an adorable photo of her daughter, Royce Lillian, and spoke about the “love she has for her.”

Rebel soon announced that she was going to be a mother(Rebel Wilson/Instagram)

She spoke about the “love she has for her”(Rebel Wilson/Instagram)

“I am beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, who was born via surrogate last week,” she said.

“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she is a beautiful wonder! I am forever grateful to everyone involved (you know who you are), this took years…but I wanted to give a special thank you to my beautiful surrogate mother who carried and gave birth to her with such grace and care.

“Thank you for helping me raise my own family, it’s a great gift. The BEST gift!!”

February 2023

She said Ramona’s family hasn’t fully accepted her yet(Rebel Wilson/Instagram)

  Rebel’s family supports her(Instagram)

Rebel opened up about her relationship with Ramona, admitting that her friend’s family has yet to fully accept the couple’s relationship.

She spoke openly about the positivity she felt from her family after coming out to them, but also revealed that Ramona’s family wasn’t as open.

“My whole family was just amazing,” she gushed to Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne on their Life Uncut podcast.

However, the Pitch Perfect star then revealed their relationship had proved more difficult for her partner’s 38-year-old family.

“Ramona’s family wasn’t that tolerant,” she added. “And so, in many ways, it was a lot harder for her to have to break the news publicly.

“She’s not in the public eye with her, it’s much harder for her. It’s so sad to see what happened to her family about this. Hopefully people will change their attitude towards things.”

To study the role of Earth’s oceans in climate change, NASA recently launched a mission 100 miles off the coast of San Francisco involving a ship, two aircraft, and a fleet of sailing drones and other robotic research vehicles.

Scientists are studying lesser-known features of the ocean’s surface, such as eddies and eddies, which they suspect may play an important role in the transfer of gases and heat between the atmosphere and the ocean. The mission began on October 19 when the research vessel Oceanus left Newport, Oregon and will end on November 6. During the recent storm, when the ship had to enter the port of San Francisco due to waves in the ocean, it made a brief pause in the study region, reaching 30 feet high.

Although NASA is best known for space exploration, it also operates a fleet of satellites for studying the earth’s surface, some of which focus on the oceans. This particular mission is known as the Sub-Mesoscale Ocean Dynamics Experiment, or S-MODE. Submesoscale refers to ocean dynamics less than 10 kilometers in diameter such as ocean eddies that swirl around the ocean surface and stir up the water.

“These eddies are making a really important impact on the climate,” said Tom Farrar of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the mission’s lead investigator, at a news conference on the mission on Friday.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the ocean absorbs 31% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions. Farrar and others suggest that eddies have an impact on the exchange of heat and gases between the air and the ocean, and likely play a role in transporting heat, carbon, and oxygen from the surface to deeper layers of the ocean. But vortices are too small and too short to be studied by satellite, which is why the S-MODE mission uses so many different instruments at the same time, closer to the source.

The location in front of San Francisco Bay was chosen because it is located on the California Current, a dynamic movement of water along the west coast that is surrounded by many eddies. Two planes collect data on wind and currents on the ocean surface from different heights, one under the clouds and one at 28,000 feet, while the Oceanus and autonomous research vehicles collect images and measurements in the water.

“The goal is to map a complete 3-D structure,” said Farrar.

The Oceanus carried most of the marine robots out to sea, although five sailing drones, bright orange, solar-powered robotic vehicles, disembarked from Alameda and made their way to the study area. You can measure air and ocean currents, as well as salinity and chlorophyll levels, or the amount of phytoplankton in the water. With all the tools working together, the team hopes to study the eddies as they form to learn more about how the ocean is slowing the effects of climate change.

What they find can be used to support an international project NASA is participating in next year by using satellites to conduct the first global survey of all bodies of water on the planet, from oceans to lakes, Nadya said Vinogradova-Shiffer, program scientist from NASA’s Earth Sciences department at the briefing.

“Observing ocean circulation directly from space would be a great advance for science,” she said.

You are never too old to start with what you love.

Retired couple Steven and Millie Tani first stumbled upon cosplay three years ago when they needed a costume for a Halloween event. The couple, who have been married for 27 years, haven’t stopped since.

SEE ALSO:

Cosplayer nails the piercing eyes of the night king in his amazing homemade costume

From Mary Poppins and Chimney Sweep Bert to Captain America and Agent Carter, the couple, who live in Southern California, travel the state attending various events and conventions dressed up as their favorite characters.

Cosplay, a portmanteau made up of the words “costume” and “game,” shows people dressing up as their favorite characters – who can be anything from anime to video game characters.

Here they are at Stan Lee’s Comic Con in LA:

The couple, who refused to reveal their ages but added that they were “both in their 60s”, first learned to cosplay from their daughter, who is a 10 year old veteran cosplayer – but never would have thought that they would end up cosplaying themselves over and over again.

They changed their minds after their first cosplay event.

The couple’s very first cosplay outfit was the adorable older couple Carl and Ellie from Pixar’s Oscar-winning Up.

“Since we kind of look like Carl and Ellie, we decided to try something simple,” the couple told Mashable. “We got a great response from guests … and that’s how our cosplay career began.”

Her daughter also suggested creating a Facebook page dedicated to her cosplay adventures.

The couple say it takes up to two months to make a costume. They try to use items they already have, but sometimes go to thrift stores for additional items or look for supplies online on sites like Ebay and Etsy.

The costumes are sewn by Millie, who describes herself as the “average seamstress with simple outfits”.

Steven and Millie add that when they started they were surprised by the attention they received.

“We are basically both very shy and introverted people. When people started taking photos of us in our cosplays, we were first surprised by the attention we received, ”they said.

“We [also] weren’t sure how people would react to us as an older Asian couple … but many made us feel welcome and … we were more comfortable and made more friends. “

And the couple are showing no signs of slowing down.

“We will continue this cosplay adventure as long as our health lasts,” they said in an email to Mashable.

“We don’t want to sit around in rocking chairs, but rather enjoy our golden years and enjoy life to the full. It’s almost a 24/7 love work to develop new cosplays, so hopefully we can squeeze one in another 10 years. “

You are never too old to do what you love.

Retired couple Steven and Millie Tani first stumbled upon cosplaying three years ago when they needed a costume for a Halloween event. The couple, who have been married for 27 years, have not stopped since then.

From Mary Poppins and Chimney Sweep Bert to Captain America and Agent Carter, the couple, who live in Southern California, travel the state attending various events and conventions dressed up as their favorite characters.

Cosplay, a portmanteau of the words “costume” and “play,” sees people dressing up as their favorite characters – from anime to video game characters.

Here they are at Stan Lee’s Comic Con in LA:

The couple, who refused to reveal their ages but added that they were “both in their 60s”, first learned cosplaying through their daughter, who is a 10-year-old cosplayer – but never thought she would end up would repeatedly cosplay themselves.

They changed their minds after their first cosplay event.

The couple’s very first cosplay outfit was the adorable elderly couple Carl and Ellie from Pixar’s Oscar-winning Up.

“Since we kind of look like Carl and Ellie, we decided to try something simple,” the couple told Mashable. “We got a wonderful reaction from the guests … and that’s how our cosplayer career began.”

Her daughter also suggested creating a Facebook page dedicated to her cosplaying adventures.

The couple say it takes them up to two months to make a costume. They try to use items they already have but sometimes go to thrift stores to buy additional items or look for supplies online on sites like Ebay and Etsy.

The costumes are sewn by Millie, who considers herself the “average seamstress who can make simple outfits”.

Steven and Millie add that when they started they were surprised by the attention they got.

“We’re both basically very shy and introverted. When people started photographing us in our cosplays, we were first amazed at the attention we got,” they said.

“We [also] I wasn’t sure how people would react to us as an older Asian couple … but many greeted us and … we were more comfortable and made more new friends. “

And the couple are showing no signs of slowing down.

“We will continue this cosplay adventure as long as our health is preserved,” they said in an email to Mashable.

“We don’t want to sit around in rocking chairs because we want to enjoy our golden years and enjoy life to the fullest. It’s almost a 24-hour love work to develop new cosplays, so hopefully we can squeeze into another one.” ten years.”
