SAN FRANCISCO — A New York-based Asian-American writer visiting San Francisco found herself among the victims of an egg-throwing attack by a man who made racist comments on the 38 Geary Muni bus.

The incident happened last Thursday and Michelle Young caught it on video.

Young took to Twitter to describe the attack.

“Guy with a lot of balls came and started yelling at me and the Asian girl next to me, ‘stupid Chinese bitch’. A man on the bus walked in and the guy started throwing eggs at his window. We’ve all got balls in our hair!”

SFPD has reached out to them, as has the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency.

“This is not acceptable for our vehicles,” says the response from the transport company. “We’re sorry this happened to you. Please file a report with us to prevent incidents like this. We will have the staff screened and screened. Again, our sincere apologies.”

Young also thanked those who reached out to her and urged other victims to come forward.

“I spoke to SFPD and they are moving things forward,” she posted on social media. “If you have been on the bus or been attacked by this man in the past please DM me as your testimony is helpful. I’m on vacation with my family this week, but thank you all again for your support!”
