This week we are going to look at this two-story home in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood.

More people have been looking to move to San Antonio in 2023. (Especially from Austin!) But San Antonio rents aren’t dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.

Last week’s apartment in Medical Center with the “exquisite” view was the latest in San Antonio apartments that focuses more on amenities than living space. This week we are going to the Northside in a neighborhood known as Thousand Oaks. The listing says this five-bedroom, two-story home is located at 16503 Glen Eve Path, San Antonio, TX 78232.

The home comes with a luxury amenity and a backyard that is not huge, but well-established and features a covered patio. How much will these amenities spike the rental price, if at all?

Those windows are a natural light-lovers dream.

The living room is one telling feature in a home that sets the vibe of the rest of the home, and those transom windows allow residents to mitigate direct sunlight while still letting natural light in.

This is a massive space dedicated to the kitchen.

The kitchen is large. It comes with a huge island counter, stainless-steel appliances, and recessed lights. The home also has a gas stove and gas water heater. That wood flooring is found throughout the entire home.

The dining room is separate from the living room and kitchen.

A fairly typical dining room, but large enough for a dining table seating six. I would choose a different light fixture. Let’s head upstairs.

The main bedroom has a tray ceiling that opens up the room.

Tray ceilings will really open up a room, as will the natural light from the floor-to-ceiling transom windows. Again, this is only one of five bedrooms.

Here is the main bathroom that comes with a walk-in shower and a tub.

The bathroom comes with a separate tub and walk-in shower.

Yes. The backyard has a hot tub.

We’ll end on the backyard, which has a covered patio and a hot tub for personal use. That does mean more routine maintenance. Now for the rental price. The Craigslist post says the home is $2,700 a month plus a $1,500 deposit. The Craigslist post doesn’t include a phone number, but Zillow lets you schedule a tour.

Graymark Buys Thousand Oaks Workplace for Life Sciences Conversion

Graymark Capital has acquired 120 Via Merida, a 99,000 square foot office building in Thousand Oaks, CA. The San Francisco-based company paid $17.75 million for the property and also secured $42 million in financing for the acquisition and speculative remodeling of a life sciences campus.

CBRE’s Mike Longo, Sean Sullivan and Todd Tydlaska represented the seller, a private equity firm, in the transaction and CBRE’s Greg Grant facilitated the financing. “Thousand Oaks is the heartbeat of life sciences in Los Angeles. The property is located at the entrance to the market and offers an ideal laboratory conversion due to its quality construction and campus layout,” commented Longo.

Gray Matter and architect BAM Creative will develop the conversion, which will consist of 60% lab-ready space with upgraded mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The property will also undergo exterior and site improvements to the power system, charging area, interior and exterior fixtures, roof and parking lot.

Vigil Held For Handyman Shot To Demise In Automobile In Sherman Oaks – CBS Los Angeles

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA) – There was a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening during which a craftsman was senselessly gunned down in what was believed to be a misunderstanding that turned fatal.

Mondo Martinez was shot while sitting in his car in an upscale area of Sherman Oaks. His family described him as a loving man who was full of life that was taken too soon.

Investigators said gunman Ethan Wall, 39, an Army veteran, told them when he spotted Martinez in a car he thought he was shrouding the neighborhood to raid a house. He confronted him and shot him twice, detectives added.

“Getting someone to just take matters into their own hands and kill them is absolutely bizarre and crazy for me and something that is unforgivable,” said Mondo’s niece Elena Martinez tearfully.

Relatives believe Martinez was in the area to visit his girlfriend. You don’t think he owned a gun.

Investigators said they found two guns at the scene, one used by the shooter and the other is still under investigation.

“I just want justice for my brother,” said Danny Martinez on Wednesday night. “He wasn’t a burglar.”
