Vallejo, California-based Lind Marine, through its boat building division Moose Boats, has delivered a new dockside launch to San Francisco-based Westar Marine Services. The newbuild, named after the daughter of Westar Operations Manager Eric Morrow, Madison Lynne, will be used in the San Francisco Bay Area for duties such as crew/passenger transfers and cargo transportation.

The newbuild has a length of 75 feet (22.86 meters), a draft of just 3.25 feet (0.99 meters) and capacity for up to 28 passengers, including 25 seats in the main cabin, and weighs 15,000 pounds (6,803 kilograms ). Charge. The carrying capacities are greater than those of previous ships in the Westar launch fleet.

The passenger cabin also features USB charging ports, under-seat storage, a lavatory and a crew lounge with kitchenette and beverage station.

The propulsion system includes a Volvo Penta IPS with two 700 hp (521 kW) D13 engines connected to thrusters built into the catamaran’s hulls. The propulsion arrangement allows Madison Lynne to reach a top speed of 27 knots and to turn on her own length or even maneuver sideways without the need for separate bow thrusters.

The wheelhouse contains the primary helm station as well as joysticks to control the port and starboard pod thrusters for more precise manoeuvring, e.g. B. when operating alongside other ships during the transfer. A secondary aft helm station is also available with a helm station, radio and electronic throttles similar to those in the wheelhouse. This allows the single crew member to safely maneuver the ship alongside without having to change its orientation.

The wheelhouse and passenger cabin are each equipped with an HVAC system. The wheelhouse electronics include Furuno GPS and radar, em-trak AIS, Rose Point navigation software, Green Marine Monitors ICOM radios and displays.

The fuel capacity of 1,200 gallons (4,542 liters) allows the ship to sail up to 400 nautical miles. For power, the ship relies on a 25kW Northern Lights generator installed in the port hull. Also installed is a Novec 1230 fire suppression system from 3M.

Madison Lynne was built in accordance with US Coast Guard Subchapter T requirements.

February 5, 1943 – December 20, 2022
Georgia Mary Harbour, 79, passed away on December 20, 2022 from heart complications with her beloved son John Peter (JP) Harbor at her side. Georgia Mary Wagner was born on February 5, 1943 in Fond du Lac, WI to Arthur and Helen Wagner, the fifth of ten children. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ where she spent her childhood, attended Camelback High School, and began college at Arizona State University. Soon after, she followed two brothers to California to explore San Francisco, and she discovered the City she would adore for the rest of her life. She met and married Antony Harbour, and they joyfully welcomed their son JP a few years thereafter. During a brief relocation to Houston, TX to support Antony’s successful career in architecture, Georgia was passionate to learn about beauty, design, art, and its perceptions, and attended Rice University to complete her degree, earning a BA in Art History. Georgia moved back to San Francisco and the marriage later ended in divorce, although it provided her the independence to raise her son in the midst of San Francisco’s cultural richness and to follow her own life path.
A truly devoted mother, Georgia enthusiastically encouraged her son’s academic, athletic, and cultural pursuits, and she was grateful for his loyal companionship and support throughout her life. She made frequent trips to Lake Tahoe and Carmel, enjoyed skiing and tennis, and loved traveling to new destinations across the country, to Europe, and on international cruises. She loved the arts, music, nature, humor, and delicious food, all of which she celebrated throughout her life. She developed her own real estate investment and property management business and was particularly pleased to work for herself. Georgia was a loyal friend, a loving family member, and a faithful Catholic. She cherished spending time with loved ones to celebrate holidays, family reunions, birthdays, weddings, and special occasions together. She laughed easily, loved to sing and dance, and conveyed a spirit of goodwill to everyone she met, although always confident to stand her ground. A lifelong sports fan, she loved the 49ers and her son’s alma mater Cal, and never gave up on the Green Bay Packers of her early childhood. She spent many happy dinners at the Olympic Club, where she also enjoyed volunteering at the US Open golf tournament. As a true San Franciscan, she loved eating fresh Dungeness crab, dark chocolate from Ghirardelli, warm sourdough bread, and local Italian, Mexican, and Chinese favorites. In her later years, she would recount memories such as moving to the City in the 70s and experiencing the 1989 earthquake while at home in the Marina, and cultural highlights such as seeing Paul McCartney’s farewell to Candlestick Park concert, watching the America’s Cup in the Bay, and rooting on the Giants to win the World Series. She was fond of listening and singing along to Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Tony Bennett and never tired of a great love song. Georgia’s independent spirit, tenacity, smile, and her innate kindness will be truly missed.
Over the course of her life in San Francisco, Georgia found a spiritual home at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, where she will be interred. She was a regular attendee of services and truly appreciated the sense of community it offered to all, including its musical and spiritual offerings. Georgia is survived by two brothers, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and her adored son JP. Friends and family are invited to a Service of Remembrance on Friday, February 4 at 3pm at St. Dominic’s Church, at Bush and Steiner, followed by a reception nearby.
