This week we’re traveling outside of San Antonio to look at this apartment with a resort style pool.

From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.

Last week we took a trip to a recently renovated home near the Five Points neighborhood, not far from downtown San Antonio. This week we are traveling outside of San Antonio to New Braunfels, right at the foot of the Texas Hill Country, to look at a luxury one-bedroom apartment. The complex is called the Avenues at Creekside because it sits in the Creekside area at 625 Creekside Way, New Braunfels, TX 78130.

Creekside is a neighborhood that is northeast of New Braunfels that is anchored by stores like Target, an H-E-B plus!, and an EVO Entertainment Center. It’s also filled with other apartment complexes. So, how much does this one-bedroom cost at Creekside compared to the others?

The unit uses an open concept to have all the living spaces in one room.

This week we’re looking at a recently updated home near Five Points.

Last week’s apartment gave us a glimpse of what apartment living is like near Southtown and Blue Star, while also giving us a peek at the cost. We are going to head northwest of downtown San Antonio to look at a home near the historic Five Points neighborhood. The landlord has listed a 1,485-square-foot, three-bedroom home located at 321 University Ave., San Antonio, Texas 78201.

The house is directly northwest of Five Points, where you can find restaurants like M.K. Davis with its crispy dogs, a ramen joint called Kimura, and fish taco hangout called The Cove. The home has also been recently renovated, according to the listing, which could mean a higher rent.

Finally, a backyard. It’s been a while since we’ve seen one of these. It’s not spectacular but its good to know what you’re getting, which includes a driveway that extends into the backyard.

So how much do we think this home costs? The Craigslist post says the home costs $2,200 per month. However, the Zillow listing says the home is $2,000 per month. Either or, the cost is in line with other rentals in the area. I would go with the Zillow listing if you’re interested.

This week we’re looking at a one-bedroom apartment on the Far Northside.

Last week we looked at a luxury apartment that was on the edge of the Texas Hill Country and surrounded by a golf course. We’re going to stay on the Far Northside for this week’s entry of Guess the Rent, looking at a one-bedroom apartment at a resort-style complex that sits smack dab in The Rim. Berkshire at the Rim is located at 5650 Worth Pkwy., San Antonio, TX 78257.

Living in this apartment complex puts you near plenty of retail, an IMAX Santikos theater, and multiple restaurant options. It’s right across the highway from Six Flags: Fiesta Texas and the Shops at La Cantera.

So how much does it cost to live in this apartment? Let’s find out.

This week we are going to look at a recently built home on the Eastside that sticks out from the others.

Last week we got a look at one of the more spacious townhomes we’ve seen near UTSA in this series. This week’s entry isn’t exactly a townhome but it looks like one when you take in how at how skinny it is. Looks can be deceiving, as this four-bedroom, three-story home is 2,080 square feet in size.

There is a lot of verticality to this modern home at 2406 Martin Luther King Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78203 that was built in 2020, according to Bexar County property records. It has a modern, trendy look that makes it stand out from the neighboring homes in Jefferson Heights, a neighborhood on San Antonio’s Eastside.

It’s close to downtown and the newly minted Frost Bank Center, the home of the Spurs. But given how recently it was built, I’m curious to see the rental price.

The entry to this home gives us a good view of the kitchen.

Bear with this entry. Most of the photos are vertical. Still, we get a good look at what will greet you when you enter the home. That chair in the foreground gives us a small peek at the kitchen.

This week we are going to look at this two-story home in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood.

Last week’s apartment in Medical Center with the “exquisite” view was the latest in San Antonio apartments that focuses more on amenities than living space. This week we are going to the Northside in a neighborhood known as Thousand Oaks. The listing says this five-bedroom, two-story home is located at 16503 Glen Eve Path, San Antonio, TX 78232.

The home comes with a luxury amenity and a backyard that is not huge, but well-established and features a covered patio. How much will these amenities spike the rental price, if at all?

This week we are heading up north outside of San Antonio to look at an apartment at the Hill and Fair Oaks outside of Boerne.

Last week, our Guess the Rent trip took us to a renovated home in Tobin Hill near the St. Mary’s Strip. It offered up living space near one of San Antonio’s bustling food and drink spots. This week we are heading back up north past La Cantera and the The Rim to look at an apartment on the way to Boerne.

This week’s listing is a two-bedroom unit at the Hills at Fair Oaks Apartments located at 8700 Starr Ranch, Boerne, TX 78015. The apartments are north of the Dominion area and right outside of Fair Oaks Ranch. That should be one clue to the pricing, or the rental figure could surprise you. Maybe. The apartments are also near a new H-E-B in the Lemon Creek Ranch development.

So how much will this two-bedroom apartment cost you?

The dining space is conveniently next to the kitchen.

The kitchen and dining are conveniently right next to one another. From here the kitchen is doing much in the way of more modern fixtures that you see in newer apartments.

The bedroom has enough space for a large bed but it looks like space would be tight with a dresser in this room.

It’s your standard bathroom with a tile shower. The little accent stripe of tile is a nice touch.

Now on to the bathroom, which is trying too hard to be unique, but it’s a bathroom that provides the necessities. The brown tile stripe in the shower does give it some character.

On top of the resort-style pool seen at the top of this story, the Hills at Fair Oaks also provides a grilling area under trees with string lights and a hammock for lounging around.

So how much do you think this apartment will cost? The Craigslist post says $1,167 for this 960-sqaure-foot apartment, well below the median rent for a two-bedroom apartment of $1,575, according to Zumper.

This week we’re looking at this home in Tobin Hill that has been renovated, receiving refreshed interiors and fixtures.

The infinity pool apartment at La Cantera was up there in rental price, nearing a $2,000 price tag for a two-bedroom. Perhaps you were also paying for the area the apartment was located. This week we are heading back toward central San Antonio in a neighborhood just north of downtown. This three-bedroom home at 517 E. Mistletoe, San Antonio, TX 78212 in Tobin Hill has received some recent upgrades, according to the listing.

The home is less than a minute from the St. Mary’s Strip, which is a food destination by day and popular nightlife spot when the sun goes down. There is, however, the crowd to contend with on the weekend. Still, Tobin Hill is a popular area and that could affect the rental price along with those renovations.

This week we are looking at these fairly new townhome-style apartments that are just north of La Cantera in the Hill Country.

We’re sticking to the Far Northside this week and looking at an area that’s not too far from the Stone Oak apartment we looked at last week. However, this week’s one-bedroom unit is in a fairly new complex north of La Cantera that offers townhome-style apartments and straddles the line of luxury and Hill Country living with plenty of amenities.

This one-bedroom apartment is at the Arbolada at La Cantera located at 19479 Babcock Road, San Antonio, TX 78255. Living here would put you around 10 minutes from the Shops at La Cantera and The Rim across I-10. Does this location add to the rent price?

This week, Guess the Rent heads to the Far Northside for a ‘modern’ two-bedroom apartment in Stone Oak.

The loft we looked at last week was trying very hard to maintain that industrial feel with the exposed brick and ventilation. This week we are heading to the Far Northside to look at a two-bedroom apartment in Stone Oak that the listing calls “modern” and “spacious.”

From what we can tell, the apartment does match what most modern apartments look like today, with stainless steel appliances and an open concept space. The 1,063-sqaure-foot apartment is in a complex called The Abbey at Sonterra, not to be confused with the The Abbey at Stone Oak. The Abbey comes with amenities like a resort-style pool, a dog park, a dog spa, and a gaming lounge.

Not sure if the apartment really comes with a yellow accent wall, but it would be a design challenge.

This week we’re heading to the Northwest Side to look at this home on the Northwest Side.

We’re leaving last week’s apartment in a very blue duplex just north of downtown San Antonio behind. This week were going to take a look inside a three-bedroom home on the city’s Northeast Side. This home at 2522 Corian Glen Drive, San Antonio, TX 78219, has received some upgrades since it was built in 1984, according to the listing.

It is located in a neighborhood that is just minutes away from Fort Sam Houston and has quick access to Loop 410 and I-35. Head east from here and it will take you to Converse and Universal City.
