A disturbing TikTok video has gone viral, showing the moment a transgender woman was verbally assaulted at a San Francisco restaurant.

Content creator Lilly Contino was eating with her dog at the Cheesecake Factory in Union Square in San Francisco while live-streaming a conversation with her followers when an unidentified woman began harassing her.

In the footage, the woman can be heard proudly referring to Ms. Contino as TERF — an acronym for trans exclusionary radical feminist, meaning a person who sees themselves as a feminist but is transphobic.

“You know I’m a TERF, right? Trans-eccentric radical feminist,” the woman can be heard saying off-screen.

When Ms. Contino asks if she’s a TERF, the woman doubles down and says, “I’m a TERF.”

She then asks Ms. Contino if she would like her to move away, to which Ms. Contino replies, “No, actually, you should tell me you’re a TERF.”

At this point, the woman mistakes Ms. Contino and says, “You’re a boy, right?”

She then begins to threaten Ms. Contino with physical violence.

“Don’t fuck with me, because honestly I hit it. I hit it hard,” she says.

The incident continues with the woman telling Ms. Contino not to “judge” her for being a TERF, telling her, “I get to be whoever I want to be and you get to be whoever you want to be.” “.

She then tells Ms. Contino to “take your stupid dog, eat your damn food, and get the shit out of my life,” before saying she needs to “call you a white supremacist.”

Ms. Contino then asks to speak to the restaurant’s manager, who apologizes off-camera for the incident.

Ms. Contino shared a clip of the encounter on her TikTok platform, which has garnered 9.7 million views as of Monday morning.

Ms Contino explained to KPIX that the harassment first started when the woman started telling jokes and then offered to show her a surgical scar on her stomach.

When she politely declined, the woman replied, “I’ll show you if I want, son.”

“And of course, as a trans person, I’m more sensitive to gender language,” Ms. Contino said.

She said that as the incident progressed she became even more shocked and said that nothing like this had ever happened to her before.

She was particularly shocked, she said, since she’d moved from Georgia to the liberal city of San Francisco.

“I was just stunned. I have never been physically threatened in public. I’ve never been verbally abused in public,” she said.

“Part of it was just shock and disbelief that this was happening. I live in San Francisco for a reason. I live here because it’s a liberal city, one of the most queer-friendly cities in the world.

“That it happens in such a public place and nobody helps.”

Ken Fulk, whose unique style has made him one of San Francisco’s — if not the world’s — most celebrated interior designer, has listed his magical live/work warehouse in the city’s SoMa District. All it takes to command the Magic Factory, as it’s called? A listing price of $8.9 million.

Locally, Fulk is well known for his remarkable interior and staging creative genius. His work has transformed the likes of mansions (his remodeling of tech power couple Michael and Xochi Birch’s home included the import and installation of an actual British pub) as well as businesses (such as the Battery Social Club in Jackson Square).

Nationally, Fulk’s work has great reach. Fulk’s official website describes how he, together with his team of San Francisco- and New York-based “Fulkers,” has gained international acclaim for “residential and hospitality projects from Mexico to Miami and Provence to Provincetown.” Among many accolades, Fulk has been named to “Architectural Digest’s AD 100, Elle Decor’s A-List, Luxe’s ​​Gold List, and was twice-nominated for a James Beard Design Award.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, Fulk is “considered to be San Francisco’s secret social weapon. He’s the man trusted by society swells and Silicon Valley heavyweights alike to help plan perfect parties, decorate jaw-dropping homes or curate any aspect of their rarefied lives.” His parties extend well past the Silicon Valley: Gigi Hadid hired Fulk to help her transform a space for a truly over-the-(roof)top party.

Fulk’s innovations have no doubt drawn inspiration from the Magic Factory space, itself a work of art. Fulk purchased 310 7th St. in 2007, transforming the 14,000-square-foot warehouse, a 1920s building that in former lives served as a furniture store and later as a Mr. S Leather factory. Fulk, deeply inspired by Warhol, created his “Magic Factory,” preserving the brick and timber features of the building while adding modern live/work features to the four-level structure. Co-listing agent Brian Leung of Compass told SFGATE that “Ken Fulk and his team have done a masterful job of elevating an iconic landmark for future users.”

As currently configured, the property’s four levels are basically open to any interpretation, although Fulk has housed his studio, office, living quarters, and event venue here. The building is topped with Fulk’s former home, a 4,000-square-foot loft space with no interior walls and an expansive terrace overlooking the city.

Also in the building: a private supper club. Over the years, this loft-like space became one of SF’s best-known venues for the designer’s famously over-the-top parties, hosting such celebrated guests as Tom Cruise, Stevie Nicks, Jean Paul Gaultier (celebrating his de Young Museum exhibition in 2007 with an event featuring Dita Von Teese and a mechanical bull), Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Mila Kunis, Alan Cumming, Andy Cohen and Chaka Khan.

About the position

The SES group has a broad activity including battery technology as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) in buildings. The postdoctoral position is part of the NORGIBATF knowledge-building project led by SES in collaboration with the Norwegian battery manufacturing industry (FREYR, BEYONDER, NORSIRK, Nordic Mining and Norsk Hydro). Several Norwegian industries are planning large scale (GWh) battery cell factories to produce batteries for export. This could enable new industries to emerge in Norway. The NORGIBATF project aims to support these industries by developing competence into energy-efficient battery cell production and enable a world-leading research environment within industrial battery production in Norway.

We have a vacancy for a two-year postdoctoral position. The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.

Current battery factories are equipped with a dry room where several important steps of the cell assembly are performed. The relative humidity (RH) in dry rooms should be kept extremely low (< 1% RH) to prevent the humidity to alter the long-term battery performance. Keeping such a low RH is an energy-intensive process that represents a large share of the embodied energy in a battery (up to 40%). Therefore, the research aims at improving the energy efficiency of dry rooms.

Two research activities are targeted:

• The main research activity is based on a system analysis where the hygrothermal dynamics of the dry room and the HVAC system will be investigated together. This will be done using detailed dynamic simulations (eg Modelica or IDA-ICE), calibrated on field measurements, that will serve as virtual experiments. These simulations will enable to derive energy-efficiency measures to improve the design and operation of dry rooms.
• The secondary activity will investigate the ventilation air distribution in the dry room using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calibrated on field measurements. The air distribution should be optimized to keep the RH below the threshold at all locations in the dry room for a minimum airflow rate.

The Head of Department is Professor Terese Løvås. The day-to-day position management is by Associate Professors Laurent Georges and Bjørn Austbø. The NORGIBATF project is managed by Professor Odne Burheim, head of the SES group.

Duties of the position

• Develop a virtual dynamic model of a dry room calibrated on a real test case
• Perform field measurements to support the development of the model
• Analysis of the energy-efficiency of dry rooms to optimize their design and operation
• Analysis of the ventilation airflow distribution in dry rooms

Required selection criteria

• You must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD
• You must have a professionally relevant background in HVAC engineering or dynamic analysis of industry processes (eg from process, cybernetic or control engineering)
• Proficient user of dynamic simulation tools like Modelica, TRNSYS or IDA ICE
• Excellent written and oral English, TOEFL (minimum 95) or IELTS (minimum 6.5)
• The selected candidate is expected to start the position during spring 2022

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant

Preferred selection criteria

Research or professional experience in one or several of the following domains will be appreciated:

• Documented knowledge/experience of desiccant wheel technology
• Documented knowledge/experience with CFD
• Background in data-driven modeling of systems
• Expertise in data pre- and post-processing tools like Python or MATLAB
• Knowledge of building physics
• Experience with field measurements of indoor environment or energy use in buildings or industrial premises
• Knowledge of the Norwegian language will be considered as an advantage
• Documented experience in scientific writing, typically peer-reviewed journal papers.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352) you are normally paid from gross NOK 574 700 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The period of employment is 2 years.

The commitment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology.
