San Rafael man named Novato ambassador of the yr – Marin Unbiased Journal


San Rafael resident Richard De Ramon, the Novato branch manager at Redwood Credit Union, has been recognized as Novato Chamber Ambassador of the Year by the Novato Chamber of Commerce.

Richard De Ramon, who lives in San Rafael, has been recognized as the Novato Chamber Ambassador of the Year by the Novato Chamber of Commerce.

De Ramon is the Novato branch manager of Redwood Credit Union, a Santa Rosa-based bank serving the North Bay and San Francisco, and has been a Novato ambassador for three years.

In late January, the bank was also rated one of the top financial institutions in the nation by Consumer Reports, a nonprofit that serves consumers through unbiased ratings, research, product testing and education.

Pilates ProWorks, a San Francisco-based line of fitness studios that combine pilates workouts, yoga and boxing, opened studios in San Anselmo and Larkspur last month.

Violette Florika opened a studio at 21 San Anselmo Way, San Anselmo on Jan. 18. The 1,600-square-foot studio offers 12 custom-designed pilates machines, hardwood floor space and outdoor areas.

Puneh Sohrabpour opened a studio at 242 Magnolia Drive, Larkspur on Jan. 25. The 3,000-square-foot studio is the largest Pilates ProWorks center to date.

The Marin Healthcare District board recently elected three new officers last month.

Hank Simmonds, of Kentfield, a retired OB-GYN, was elected chair; Ann Sparkman, of Corte Madera, chief medical counsel at University of California at San Francisco, is now vice chair. The board’s new secretary Jennifer Rienks, of Fairfax, an associate director of the Family Health Outcomes Project at UCSF.

Last month, five community leaders were elected to the board of directors of the Redwoods Retirement Community.

Andy Berman, of Mill Valley, an attorney and former City Council member; Scott Miller, of Mill Valley, a partner at OUM & Co., a San Francisco-based accounting and business advising firm; Genevieve M. Moore, of San Francisco, a partner at Larkspur’s business law firm Bancroft & McAlister LLP; Sarah Oliver, of Mill Valley, founder and CEO of Sarah Oliver Handbags in Sausalito and Michelle Steinhart, of Mill Valley, a broker associate at Coldwell Banker joined the board.
