Former first-round WR reportedly visits San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are looking for depth in the bargain box.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that veteran wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was visiting the franchise. The 27-year-old wideout is looking for a new team after spending the 2022-23 season with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Minnesota Vikings initially drafted Treadwell in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, but after four underwhelming seasons in Minneapolis, the franchise decided to move on from the former standout Ole Miss.
Treadwell has since had stints in Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Seattle, though he never rushed for 500 yards or three touchdowns in a single season. And that for his entire career. The powerful receiver recorded just six total receptions for 42 yards and zero touchdowns in six games with the Seahawks last year.
Treadwell almost certainly wouldn’t make a difference to the 49ers should he join the organization. But the team could use more options at receiver given their razor-thin depth behind the occasionally inconsistent Brandon Aiyuk and the occasionally high-risk Deebo Samuel. The bigger question for the 49ers might be which quarterback throws the ball to their pass catchers.
