PALMER WHITE IS AN INTERIOR DESIGNER WITH SAN FRANCISCO. Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Weiss sees her Southern roots as a major influence on her design aesthetic. She admires the way Southerners honor their family heritage, formality and tradition in their homes, but are also not afraid to air a few of their eccentricities. Living in Northern California for over 25 years has allowed her to develop a unique style that both respects tradition and embraces new ideas. As a mother of two daughters and a Labrador, Weiss also knows that a home must be as functional as it is beautiful. Never succumbing to trends, Weiss is known for creating timeless, modern and livable interiors, with her signature pops of color and a touch of southern eccentricity she brings to the fun.
Interiors and architecture are in Weiss’ blood. An experienced interior designer for her mother and father in real estate development, Weiss spent much of her childhood touring building and construction sites. Despite constantly toiling in her mother’s sample closet and scouring design journals for inspiration, Weiss didn’t formalize her career as a designer until 2002. Instead, she worked in investment banking and retail merchandising. She believes that her experience in the business world has helped her tremendously in managing client budgets and meeting important project deadlines – qualities that are as important to Weiss for successful client relationships as inspired creative decisions.
Weiss received a BA in history of art and architecture from Brown University and her MBA from Northwestern University’s JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management. An avid supporter of the arts, Weiss is a board member of the Spoleto Festival USA, one of America’s premier performing arts festivals, held in her hometown of Charleston, SC.
