SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Firefighters ascended down a cliff in Fort Funston on Saturday to hoist a dog named Duke for safety, the San Francisco Fire Department reported.
The mixed breed dog tumbled part way down the steep cliff around 2:45 pm, officials said.
Duke hung onto a rock ledge as rescuers made their way down. A crew member was lowered down to secure the dog in a harness and get it back to the beach.
