Lady snaps spooky figures inside Lincoln cathedral

- Leah Harrison, 35, claims she captured ghosts on camera at Lincoln Cathedral
- Mother-of-two believes they are spirits of chimney sweep boy and his mother
- She said pictures are ‘so clear’ she has been accused of faking the images
A mother-of-two has revealed spooky snaps from inside Lincoln Cathedral that she believes could be the ghosts of a chimney sweep boy and his mother.
Leah Harrison, 35, was testing out her new phone camera on a day trip there when it appears she was joined by two unknown figures in the place of worship – despite claiming no one was there.
The cathedral has a history of ‘hauntings’ over its 900 years and Ms Harrison said she felt a strange presence and believes she captured the outline of a boy wearing a cap next to a taller woman.
The housewife said that her picture was so clear that many have claimed it is faked, which she adamantly denies.

Ms Harrison, from Lincoln, said: ‘My mother had come up to stay with me and wanted to go to see the cathedral again as she enjoys it.
‘She had just got me a new phone so I was using that and thought I would test it out while there so I was just snapping away, not really thinking too much about what I was photographing.
‘I have been into the paranormal for a long while and you get a spooky feeling when there. We were on our own and not many people were there at all, certainly no one stood in front of us.
‘But I got the feeling that someone was there but didn’t see anyone at all. It was only when I got home and looked through the pictures that I saw the two figures.
‘I uploaded the pictures to social media and waited for someone to point it out to see if anyone else saw it – and sure enough someone did.
‘It looked like someone had walked into the light. There were two figures. The one on the left that I think looked like a chimney sweep boy with a little cap on, but was quite faint.
‘But then the figure next to the boy is clearer, you can see the torso and head and chest of someone that’s taller than the little boy.
‘You can even zoom in on the picture and make out the pupils of this woman.
‘I have never caught anything as clear as that, I’m really proud of it.’
With her interest in the paranormal growing, Ms Harrison is now producing her own podcast exploring people’s experiences with the supernatural and hopes her own image will get people talking about the possibility of what happens after death.
She said the ‘ghosts’ are ‘so clear people have accused her of faking the image’ Ms Harrison, right, was testing out her new camera phone when she spotted the strange figures
Ms Harrison said: ‘I’m sharing it now to see what people think about it. I’ve had a mixed reaction from people.
‘One person thinks I have superimposed it – I’m actually quite proud of that as it shows how good it is, it’s that clear people think it is fake.
‘You look at some that are quite famous and clear but these are rare. I can honestly say that I have not faked it.
‘I have had people who do that with paranormal stuff, I see it doing the rounds a lot, but there is no point. I think a professional would look at this and prove it [is not faked].
‘Some people say they see [the figures]. Some see the woman while others think it is a clergyman or a priest or a monk.
Ms Harrison, pictured, has since launched a podcast to discuss the paranormal
‘There are lots of perceptions. It looked like a woman to me – it could be his mother.
‘I have an open mind [about the existence of the paranormal]. My partner thinks I’m crazy but I always say that with so many views and perceptions there’s always an amount of truth.
‘I keep an open mind. We all have a lot to learn and seeing is believing with all of this.
‘I have a launched a podcast called A Hitchhiker’s Guide to 42 to look into this and discuss people’s experiences. It features scientists and sceptics as well as those who have experienced it.
‘People are more open minded now, which is good. It’s possibly because of the way social media is used now.
‘But I want to see with my own eyes, which I didn’t do with this picture [as I only saw it in the picture afterwards].
‘But as a ghost image it’s up there as one I have never seen anything like or seen anyone take anything as clear as that.’
Work started on Lincoln Cathedral almost 1000 years ago in 1072, however a fire in the early 1100s ravaged the building and it had to be rebuilt.
After the plague wiped out millions as it swept the country in 1349, a patch near the cathedral was chosen as a mass burial pit when they ran out of consecrated ground to bury the vast numbers of dead.
Legend has it that on the anniversary of the mass burial, a ghostly parade can be seen going past the cathedral and gather at its doors.
