Hire this 2-bedroom loft close to the San Antonio’s La Villita

The open concept and brick walls gives this space a warehouse feel for this week’s Guess the Rent entry.

Craigslist

More people have been looking to move to San Antonio in 2023. (Especially from Austin!) But San Antonio rents aren’t dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.

Maybe people are getting tired of looking at homes to rent in San Antonio like the one we featured last week that was near Fort Sam Houston. This week we’re making the trek into downtown San Antonio to look at a two-bedroom loft that’s not far from staples like the River Walk and La Villita.

Downtown living can have it’s perks, especially if you work in the area. Plus it is considered more walkable than other parts of town, which isn’t saying much for San Antonio. Still, downtown living, especially in a renovated historic building, can mean a high price.

The listing says this 1,170-sqaure-foot luxury apartment is in the Milmo Lofts at 319 S. Flores St., San Antonio, TX 78204, also known as the South Flores corridor. Yes. The area with the fancy, downtown H-E-B.

The loft follows the common open concept. This kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances, track lighting and “Barcelona countertops.” What is that? It’s essentially a gray stone countertop usually made with quartz. Sounds fancy.

I’m not sure if it’s the camera angle, but this bedroom looks a little narrow. It would take some creative furnishing. In the background you can see the closet and the bathroom.

That's a full, clear glass sink. Very classy.

This bathroom is where it’s at. Look at the clear “Italian glass” vessel sink. The listing says that the walk-in shower also comes with rainshower head.

So how much will this loft cost per month? The Craigslist post says the apartment is $1,850 per month. Zumper says the median rent for a two-bedroom in the area is $1,671.
