Catalent has begun construction on a $20 million expansion of its clinical care facility in Schorndorf, Germany.

The manufacturer is expanding the site by 32,000 square feet and plans to add capacity to store clinical trial materials and make room for a new bottling facility. The work is expected to be completed by June next year.

“With additional temperature-controlled handling, storage and distribution, the facility is well-equipped to respond to the region’s growing demand for clinical supply capacity and services, including for products that require cold-chain support,” said Ricky Hopson, President and Division in a press release for Clinical Development & Supply at Catalent.
